ST. CHARLES, Mo. -
Freshman libero Annie Reilly recorded a career-high 31 digs, as the seventh-ranked Central Missouri Jennies earned their 20th win of the season at Lindenwood, 15-25, 25-15, 25-22, 25-15. Overall, the Jennies defense led the way, recording 87 digs and a season-high 14.5 blocks, and held Lindenwood to just a .093 hitting percentage.

The Jennies (20-4, 12-1 MIAA), struggled at the start of the match, and never was able to claim a lead in the opening set. After a block from Julia Bates and Bradye Peniston tied the score at 6-6, the Lions five straight points for an 11-5 lead. UCM was able to cut the lead to just two, at 13-11 following a Lindenwood attack error, but couldn't climb any closer. The Lions took four of the next five points to go up 17-12 before eventually taking a 25-15 first set win.

Wasting no time in the second set, the Jens reeled off the first six points, highlighted by three kills from Peniston, two from freshman Carly Sojka, and a service ace from Mikalee Monachino. UCM would lead the rest of the way, with Peniston leading the way, collecting six kills in the set. The team hit for a match-high .262 in the second game, committing only five attack errors.

The Jennies used another big run early in the third game to take control, as a 3-2 Lindenwood advantage was turned into an 8-3 Jennies lead with six straight points. Lindenwood was able to climb back in the set, however, as three straight Jennie attack errors put the Lions back in front, 11-10. Neither side could build more than a two-point lead, until a block from Peniston and Taylor Goodness gave the Jens a 21-18 lead. Lindenwood again came back to tie the set at 22-22, from a kill by Lion hitter Katie Weber. Jennies senior Hillary McCormick put her team back in front with a solo block at 23-22, and once Lisa Moore gave the Jens set point with her kill at 24-22, a Lion attack error gave UCM the set victory, 25-22.

In the fourth, Central Missouri again took an early lead, as Monachino led the Jennies through a five-point run, dealing out a pair of service aces in the process. The Jens earned the side out on the next three Lindenwood serves, leading to a 11-5 advantage. UCM never led Lindenwood back in the match, finishing on a 9-4 run to close out the win.

Just four days after Reilly posted a season- and career-high six service aces against Missouri Southern, Monachino dealt out six aces of her own against Lindenwood. The Jacksonville, Fla. native claims the team lead with 34 aces on the year, while Reilly has collected 31 aces in 2012. Monachino also picked up 18 digs in the win.

Sojka was the team leader with 16 kills in the match, earning her second double-double in as many matches, with 12 digs. Peniston also collected 13 kills, along with a .227 hitting percentage and a team-high seven total blocks, matching her season-high of seven blocks against Pittsburg State. Setter Julia Bates picked up 35 assists in the win, along with eight digs and five blocks.

With the win, the Jennies enter the final two weeks of the regular season in a tie for first place atop the MIAA standings with No. 4 Nebraska-Kearney, at 12-1. The Jennies head to Northwest Missouri for their next match, on Wednesday, October 31 at 7 p.m.
