(Warrensburg, Mo.) – The Central Missouri Jennies softball team captured 10-1 and 18-0 victories at home on Wednesday afternoon against the visiting Saints of Maryville. Those 18 runs scored in the second contest are the most by a Jennies team in a game since the 2007 season.
The Jennies outhit the Saints 25-9 in the contests including seven doubles to Maryville's two and also tallied the only three home runs of the games. UCM also stole five bases. The Saints left 12 runners on base in the contests to Central Missouri's five.
Junior
Katie Groves and sophomore
Ashlea Bengtson both tallied a team-high four hits. Groves had two doubles, three RBI, a walk, two stolen bases and four runs scored while Bengtson had one double, one home run, four RBI, and three runs scored. Freshman

Kelli Kurka and junior
Nicole Norberg both tacked on one each. Kurka and Norberg also had a round tripper apiece.
The Jennies will be back in action on Friday at Missouri Southern. First pitch is slated for 5 p.m. from Joplin, Mo.
Game 1: Jennies 10, Maryville 1
Central Missouri never trailed, sending two across in its first at bats of the day. UCM gave up one run in the third only to tally five and three in the final two innings, respectively.
The Jennies outhit the Saints 10-3 in the game as both Groves and Bengtson tallied two apiece. One of Maryville's players, Karlie Twissleman, had two hits as well.
With runners on first and third with one out, the Jennies executed a double steal for the first run of the game. UCM scored again on an error by the Saints shortstop.
In the fourth frame, with a runner on second and one out, Bengtson doubled up the middle for an RBI. The next three batters all recorded singles before Groves stepped in for a two-out two RBI single that put the score at 7-1.
Then in the fifth inning, with a runner on Kurka doubled to right field for an RBI. Bengtson then drove a pitch down the right field line for a two-run homer that ended the game. It was Bengtson's third bomb of the season.
The Saints tallied their lone run in the third on a bases loaded hit by pitch.
Maryville left six runners on base as the Jennies only left two.
Junior
Lacey Dixon recorded her sixth win of the season, throwing all five innings in the circle. She gave up the one run on three hits, walking two and striking out five.
Game 2: Jennies 18, Maryville 0
Central Missouri tallied all 18 runs on only 15 hits. Maryville recorded six hits and couldn't get a runner past second base.
Norberg led the team with three hits, three runs scored and a personal and team game-high five RBI. The last time that a Jenny recorded five RBI in one game was in the 2009 season when Jessica Marble did it against Missouri Western.
The Jennies did all of its scoring in the fourth frame, sending 17 batters to the plate and each one scoring at least once. In the inning UCM had 10 hits including two doubles and a homer.
UCM got on the board in the first frame after a ground out by Norberg that scored Groves from third, who doubled previously. In the third, UCM had two doubles and a homer to score three times.
Sophomore
Megan Schallom recorded her fourth victory, throwing all five innings. She scattered six hits and struck out four. She also tallied a RBI.
