Sawyer Allen Named D2CCA Second Team All-American

MARSHALL, Minn. -- University of Central Missouri Mules Baseball senior left-handed starting pitcher Sawyer Allen was voted a 2026 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Second Team All-American, the organization announced on Thursday, May 28.

Allen, who hails from Platte City, Mo., becomes the 22nd Mule to earn D2CCA All-America honors since the D2CCA All-America program began in 2007.

He is 8-1 on the mound with a 2.08 ERA in 15 appearances this season. The left-hander has allowed just 19 earned runs on 59 hits with 80 strikeouts and only 20 walks in 82 1/3 innings pitched.

Allen ranks second in the MIAA in ERA and opposing batting average (.198), third in strikeouts, and fifth in innings pitched.

In the most recent NCAA Division II National Statistics, he is third in WHIP (0.96) and sixth in ERA.

Allen was also named to the All-MIAA First Team and the ABCA/Rawlings, NCBWA, and D2CCA All-Central Region First Teams earlier this season.

The Mules are the No. 4 seed and are slated to face No. 5 seed UT Tyler in the opening game of the 2026 NCAA-II World Series on Friday, May 29, at 12:30 p.m. CT (1:30 p.m. ET) in Cary, N.C., at the USA Baseball National Training Complex.

The CCA All-America and All-Region baseball teams, which are selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC) from schools playing Division II baseball, were first established in 2007. This is the 11th year in which the program is solely sponsored by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association.

The Division II Conference Commissioners Association encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies, and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
