No. 29 Mules Golf in Fourth After Opening Day at the Firekeeper Open

MAYETTA, Kan. – No. 29-ranked University of Central Missouri Mules Golf fired a 36-hole team score of 6-over par 582 and sits in fourth place after the opening day of competition at the Firekeeper Open on Monday, April 6, at the Firekeeper Golf Course.

The Mules tallied team round scores of 3-over par 291 in both the first and second rounds for their 36-hole 582.

No. 7 Central Oklahoma currently leads the tournament at 6-under par 570, while No. 47 and tournament host Washburn is in second at 2-over par 578, and MoWest rounds out the top three in third at 4-over par 580.

Kale Flinton (71-74) and Lawson Barks (76-69) are both tied for ninth at 1-over par 145, leading UCM on the individual leaderboard. CJ Phillips is tied for 19th at 2-over par 146 (74-72), Jack Hope is tied for 37th at 5-over par 149 (73-76), and Brooks Baldwin is tied for 55th at 7-over par 151 (73-78), wrapping up the Central Missouri scoring.

Competing as an individual, Andrew Whittaker is tied for 37th at 5-over par 149 (74-75).

Washburn's Myles Tarvin sits at the top of the leaderboard after two rounds at 7-under par 137.

The Mules will wrap up competition with the final round on Tuesday, April 7, in Mayetta.
