EDMOND, Okla. – Cole Kreisel,
Drew Veatch, and
Chase Wilcox homered, leading No. 22-ranked Central Missouri Mules Baseball to a 13-2, seven-inning, run-rule victory over the Central Oklahoma Bronchos in game two of a three-game MIAA series on Saturday afternoon, April 25, at Wendell Simmons Field.
The Mules (33-11, 23-9 MIAA) and Bronchos (23-23, 14-18 MIAA) are slated to wrap up the series with a game on Sunday, April 26, at 1 p.m. in Edmond.
Kreisel started the Mules' offensive surge early, belting a lead-off, solo home run to left field in the top of the first inning for a 1-0 lead. It was his fourth homer of the season.
Central Missouri increased its advantage to 4-0 in the top of the second inning after Veatch crushed a 1-2 pitch over the left field wall for a three-run homer – his second of the season.
UCM plated three more runs in the third on a two-run single through the right side from
Kaiden Ashton and an RBI infield single from Veatch, building its lead to 7-0.
Grant Hollister hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth, scoring
Cole Funkhouser for the Mules' eighth run of the game, prior to Ashton crossing home plate on a Central Oklahoma error and
Brock Kobel scoring on a Funkhouser sacrifice fly in the fifth, ballooning the UCM advantage to 10-0.
Wilcox provided the exclamation point in the game, hitting a line-drive, three-run homer to right field, capping off a five-run fifth inning and putting Central Missouri in front, 13-0. It was Wilcox's third home run of 2026.
Ashton went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs, and two RBI. Veatch was 2-for-4 with a home run, run, and four RBI. Wilcox was 2-for-3 with a homer, two runs, and three RBI, and Kreisel was 1-for-3 with a home run, two runs, and an RBI, leading UCM at the plate.
Central Missouri starting pitcher
Greyson Chappel (2-2) earned the win on the mound after giving up zero earned runs on just one hit with three strikeouts and one walk in four innings.
For the game, the Mules outhit the Bronchos, 9-2.
