EDMOND, Okla. – No. 22-ranked University of Central Missouri Mules Baseball fell to the Central Oklahoma Bronchos, 5-3, in the series finale of a three-game MIAA series on Sunday afternoon, April 26, at Wendell Simmons Field.
The Mules (33-12, 23-10 MIAA) are scheduled to return home to Crane Stadium/Tompkins Field in Warrensburg for a three-game MIAA series against Missouri Southern (31-15, 24-9 MIAA) April 30-May 2.
Chase Wilcox was 2-for-4, while
Grant Hollister collected his 100th career hit on a single in the second inning.
Cole Funkhouser,
Kaiden Ashton,
Brock Kobel, and
Drew Veatch also each posted one hit in the game, rounding out the UCM offensive leaders.
Central Missouri starting pitcher
Treyton DesLauriers (0-2) took the loss on the mound after allowing two earned runs on two hits in an inning.
The Mules outhit the Bronchos (24-23, 15-18 MIAA), 7-6, but left nine runners on base and struck out seven times, while Central Oklahoma only struck out three times in the contest.
