FIRST PITCH 
  • Central Missouri Jennies softball continues MIAA play on the road with a pair of doubleheaders, beginning Friday, April 17, against No. 11 Missouri Southern Lions, with game one's first pitch slated for 11:30 a.m. from Pat Lipira Softball Complex in Joplin.  
  • The Jennies will take on No. 2 Pittsburg State Saturday, April 18, beginning at 1:00 p.m., from the Pittsburg State Softball Complex in Pittsburg, Kan.   
  • The Jens improved to 11-5 in MIAA play with a pair of doubleheader sweeps last week over Northeastern State (7-1 & 9-0) and Washburn (9-1 & 5-0) from Jennies Field at the South Recreation Complex in Warrensburg.
  • During their 10-1 (5 inn.) victory in game one against Northwest Missouri (March 28) in Maryville, Central Missouri hit four home runs in the ballgame, the most in a single game since March 19, 2024, when the Jens defeated Lincoln 8-0 (5 inn.) in Warrensburg.

  • Both doubleheaders will be available on a pay-per-view basis through the MIAA Network, with coverage beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Friday in Joplin and 1:00 p.m. on Saturday from the Pittsburg State Softball Complex.

JENS AROUND THE DIAMOND
  • Central Missouri returns seven position starters and three pitchers from a season ago as the Jens went 30-19 overall, and 14-10 in MIAA play.
  • Through 40 games, Central Missouri has a .308 team batting average, scoring six runs per game, stealing 83 bases on 96 total attempts, and sporting a .966 fielding percentage with 14 double plays made.
  • The Jens have a team ERA of 3.11 through 40 games this season, while Andi Siebeneck paces the staff with an 11-4 record. Bailey Brumley leads the team with 52 strikeouts, and Madelyn Ducheneaux has a .201 batting average against for good measure.

SERIES HISTORY
  • No. 11 Missouri Southern: Friday's doubleheader will be the 113th and 114th all-time meetings between the Lions and Central Missouri, with the Jens holding a 66-47 advantage. Last season, Missouri Southern won two out of three ballgames, including the 2025 MIAA Softball Championship Quarterfinal on Thursday, May 1, in Hays, Kan.
  • No. 2 Pittsburg State: Saturday afternoon's doubleheader between Pittsburg State and the Jens will be the 88th and 89th all-time meetings, with UCM holding a 55-32 advantage. Last season, both teams split the doubleheader, with the Jens taking game two by a final score of 5-3 on Sunday, April 12, from Jennies Field at the South Recreation Complex in Warrensburg.
 
 
UCM DURING THE ANDERSON ERA
  • Susan Anderson is in her 20th season as head coach of the Jennies, where she is the second-winningest coach in program history with a record of 584-437 (.572). She became just the second coach in program history to eclipse 500 wins, doing so in game two of a double header against Fort Hays State (April 16, 2023) on Senior Day.
  • Since her return to Warrensburg in 2006, Anderson was the fastest coach to accomplish 100 wins, doing so in just three seasons while making 16 MIAA tournaments, five regional tournaments, and one Elite Eight appearance.
  • The 2015 Regional Coach of the Year has been named MIAA Coach of the Year three times in her career (twice named as head coach of the Jens) while coaching 20 first team All-MIAA selections, nine All-Region selections, two All-Americans, and one MIAA MVP.
