INDIANAPOLIS – The MIAA Regular Season Champion Central Missouri Jennies Basketball Team received an at-large bid to the 2026 NCAA Division II Central Region Tournament and will take on Washburn on Friday, March 13, at 7:30 p.m. inside the Taylor Center on the Minnesota State University campus in Mankato, Minn.
The Jennies (25-6) received the number four seed in the region, while Washburn (24-7) is the number five seed. This will mark the 26th appearance in the NCAA tournament in Jennies Basketball history and the first since 2023.
Minnesota State (29-2) is the top seed and host of the regional tournament, which is slated for March 13-16, with first-round games on March 13, second-round contests on March 14, and the regional championship game on March 16.
The winner of the Central Region Championship will advance to the NCAA-II Women's Elite Eight, which is slated for March 24-28 at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Central Missouri and Washburn are two of three MIAA women's basketball teams in the tournament. Fort Hays State (24-5) is the three seed, rounding out the MIAA programs.
No. 2 Concordia-St. Paul (24-6), Minnesota State, and No. 8 Minnesota Duluth (20-8) represent the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC), while No. 7 Northwestern Oklahoma State (22-9).
