FIRST PITCH 
  • Central Missouri Jennies softball continues the 2026 season with three doubleheaders beginning Thursday, March 5, with a pair of games against the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish, with game one's first pitch slated for noon (CST) from Simpson Field in West Palm Beach, Fla.   
  • The Jens continue the Florida road trip on Friday, March 6, as they'll take on the Barry Buccaneers for a doubleheader beginning at 10:00 a.m. (CST), before concluding the six-game set against the Sharks of Nova Southeastern on Saturday, March 7, with game one scheduled for 11:00 a.m. (CST) from NSU Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
  • Central Missouri went 3-0 at the Midwest College Classic with victories over Upper Iowa (13-4), Minnesota State-Moorhead (9-1, 6 inn.), and Bemidji State (6-1) this past weekend from the Mid-America Sports Complex in Shawnee, Kan.    
  • At 12-2 overall, Central Missouri is off to its best start since the 2021 campaign, when the Jens captured their seventh MIAA Tournament title and made their 12th NCAA Regional appearance.
  
WHAT'S THE COUNT? 
  • Every game during the Florida trip will be available through the SSC Network, with Thursday's coverage beginning at noon (CST) from Simpson Field, while Friday's action in Miami Shores will begin at 10:00 a.m. (CST). Saturday's coverage from NSU Stadium is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. (CST) in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

MEET THE JENS   
JENS AROUND THE DIAMOND
  • Central Missouri returns seven position starters and three pitchers from a season ago as the Jens went 30-19 overall, and 14-10 in MIAA play.
  • Through 14 games, Central Missouri has a .303 team batting average, scoring 6.7 runs per game, stealing 37 bases on 40 total attempts, and sporting a .983 fielding percentage for good measure.
  • The Jens are outscoring their opponents in the sixth and seventh innings by a margin of 26-7 on the year, while being 2-0 in one-run ballgames and 1-0 in extra-innings this season.
  • Six Central Missouri batters are hitting above .300 on the year including Lexi Blackmon (.385), Kyrsten Moran (.383), Bailey Brumley (.354), Taylor Thompson (.326), Aly Hageman (.323), and Marisa Johnson (.316).
  • The Jens have a team ERA of 2.73 through 14 games this season, as Andi Siebeneck paces the staff with a 5-1 record. Riley Bebb leads the team with 21 strikeouts, while Madelyn Ducheneaux has a .151 batting average against for good measure.  
  
SERIES HISTORY
  • Palm Beach Atlantic: Thursday's doubleheader will be the first ever meeting between the Sailfish and Central Missouri.
  • Barry: Friday will be the fourth and fifth contests all-time between Barry and the Jens, with Central Missouri leading the series 2-1. After dropping the opening two games in 1991 and 1994 by a combined score of 14-3, the Buccaneers took the latest matchup in 1998, winning 3-1 at the Kennesaw State Spring Classic.      
  • Nova Southeastern: Saturday's doubleheader will be the first ever meeting between Sharks and Central Missouri.    
 
UCM DURING THE ANDERSON ERA
  • Susan Anderson is in her 20th season as head coach of the Jennies, where she is the second-winningest coach in program history with a record of 558-425 (.568). She became just the second coach in program history to eclipse 500 wins, doing so in game two of a double header against Fort Hays State (April 16, 2023) on Senior Day.
  • Since her return to Warrensburg in 2006, Anderson was the fastest coach to accomplish 100 wins, doing so in just three seasons while making 16 MIAA tournaments, five regional tournaments, and one Elite Eight appearance.
  • The 2015 Regional Coach of the Year has been named MIAA Coach of the Year three times in her career (twice named as head coach of the Jens) while coaching 20 first team All-MIAA selections, nine All-Region selections, two All-Americans, and one MIAA MVP.
