PITTSBURG, Kan. – The No. 29 Mules golf team secured a third-place finish following the final round of the Tommy Riggs Invitational at Crestwood Country Club on Tuesday, March 1. The Mules posted a three-round total of 908 (294, 308, 306), finishing 18-over par in the final round.
No. 7 Central Oklahoma claimed the tournament title with an 890, while Washburn took the runner-up spot with an 897.
Brooks Baldwin led the Mules, finishing in fifth place at 8-over par with a total of 224 (75, 74, 75). Just behind him, junior
CJ Phillips tied for sixth after carding a 225 (72, 79, 74) to finish 9-over.
Kale Flinton and
Lawson Barks both finished in a tie for 34th at 16-over par (232). Flinton shot a 5-over 77 in the final round (73, 82, 77), while Barks turned in an 80 on Tuesday (74, 78, 80).
Jack Hope rounded out the scoring in a tie for 43rd, finishing 18-over par with a 234 (76, 77, 81).
The Mules return to action April 6–7 at the Firekeeper Open at Firekeeper Golf Club in Mayetta, Kan.
