Trio of UCM Track & Field Student-Athletes Set to Compete in World Athletics U20 Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – Three University of Central Missouri Track & Field student-athletes will represent UCM on the international stage as they are set to compete in the World Athletics U20 Championships August 5-9 at Hayward Field on the University of Oregon campus.

Sophomore Chika Bakwunye, who hails from Benin City, Nigeria, will compete for Nigeria in the following events:

Thursday, August 6
  • Mixed 4x100m Relay First Round 
Friday, August 7
  • Women's 100m Hurdles First Round 
  • Women's 100m Hurdles Semifinals (if qualifier)
Saturday, August 8
  • Women's 4x100m Relay First Round 
  • Women's 100m Hurdles Final (if qualifier)
  • Mixed 4x100m Relay Final (if qualifier)
Sunday, August 9
  • Women's 4x100m Relay Final (if qualifier)
A pair of incoming freshmen are also competing.

Samoya Brown from Kingston, Jamaica, is set to represent Jamaica in the following events:

Thursday, August 6
  • Mixed 4x100m Relay First Round 
Saturday, August 8
  • Women's 4x100m Relay First Round 
  • Mixed 4x100m Relay Final (if qualifier) 
Sunday, August 9
  • Women's 4x100m Relay Final (if qualifier)
Hunter Scott, who is a native of Christchurch, New Zealand, will represent New Zealand in the following events:

Thursday, August 6
  • Men's 400m Dash First Round 
  • Men's 400m Dash Semifinals (if qualifier) 
Friday, August 7
  • Men's 400m Dash Finals (if qualifier)
