WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Gavin Williams threw five shutout innings, and
Brock Kobel and
Cody Moore homered, leading No. 7-ranked University of Central Missouri Mules Baseball to a 13-0, seven-inning, run-rule victory over the Washburn Ichabods on Tuesday afternoon, March 24, at Crane Stadium/Tompkins Field.
The Mules (24-5, 15-3 MIAA) are scheduled to travel to Maryville, Mo., for a midweek MIAA road game at Northwest Missouri State (19-8, 5-4 MIAA) on Tuesday, March 31.
Central Missouri scored at least one run in all six innings of the seven-inning contest to roll to the 13-run, shutout win over Washburn.
Moore belted his team-high fourth home run of the season – a two-run round-tripper to left field in the bottom of the first inning, Kobel crushed his second homer of 2026 on a solo shot to left field in the bottom of the third,
Chase Wilcox had four hits, including a double, and drove in three runs, and
Cole Funkhouser, Moore, Kobel, and
Cole Young all had two RBI, leading UCM at the plate in the victory.
Williams improved to 5-0 on the mound after giving up zero earned runs on three hits with one walk in five innings and 49 pitches.
For the game, the Mules outhit the Ichabods (10-18, 7-9 MIAA), 14-3.
