WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The No. 8-ranked University of Central Missouri Mules Baseball team rolled past the Arkansas-Fort Smith Lions, 12-2 in seven innings, in the series opener of a three-game MIAA series on Friday, March 20, at Crane Stadium/Tompkins Field.
The Mules (21-5, 12-3 MIAA) and Lions (4-19, 3-11 MIAA) are slated to play game two of the series at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, in Warrensburg.
UCM raced out to a 5-0 lead with a run in the first, three in the third, and two in the fourth, and never looked back en route to the 10-run victory.

Brock Kobel, and Drew Veath all had two hits in the contest, with Edwards and Ashton posting doubles, and Kobel tallying a triple. Edwards,
Cole Funkhouser, and Kobel all drove in two runs, rounding out the leaders for Central Missouri at the plate.
Starting pitcher
Greyson Chappel (1-1) earned the win on the mound after throwing five innings and allowing one earned run on two hits with six strikeouts and two walks on 70 pitches.
For the game, the Mules outhit the Lions, 12-4. Â
