WARRENSBURG, Mo. – No. 8-ranked University of Central Missouri Mules Baseball scored five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to rally from a 4-2 deficit and defeat the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats, 11-7, in a midweek MIAA game Wednesday, March 18, at Crane Stadium/Tompkins Field.
The Mules (20-5, 11-3 MIAA) are scheduled to host Arkansas-Fort Smith (4-18, 3-10 MIAA) in a three-game MIAA series March 20-22 in Warrensburg.
Jackson Bryant started the fourth-inning comeback for UCM, belting an RBI single to right field to drive in
Brock Kobel, before Central Missouri scored its next four runs on two bases-loaded walks, a wild pitch, and a hit-by-pitch for the 7-4 advantage.
The Mules made it 9-4 in the fifth when
Cole Kreisel hit a fly ball to center field that evaded the Northwest Missouri State centerfielder and rolled into deep centerfield, allowing Kreisel to circle the bases for an inside-the-park homer, his third of the season.
Kaiden Ashton also scored on Kreisel's home run.
Northwest Missouri (17-7, 7-3 MIAA) scored three runs in the top of the seventh on a three-run homer to cut the lead to 9-7, but UCM pushed across two runs in the eighth on a Bearcat passed ball and a
Collin Dobson RBI double down the left field line for the eventual 11-7 final score.
Kreisel went 2-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and his home run, while
Chase Wilcox was 2-for-4, and
Cody Moore was 1-for-2 with two runs and his third homer of 2026, leading UCM at the plate.
Relief pitcher
Kasey Crawford (3-0) earned the win on the mound after allowing no earned runs on just one hit in an inning of work.
For the game, Central Missouri outhit Northwest Missouri State, 10-7.
