No. 2 Mules Complete Four-Game Series Sweep of Arkansas Tech with 10-4 Win Sunday

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The brooms were out at Crane Stadium/Tompkins Field on Sunday, Feb. 8, as the second-ranked Central Missouri Mules Baseball team completed a four-game series sweep of the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys with a 10-4 victory.

The Mules (6-1) are scheduled to travel to Springfield, Mo., for a midweek game against the Drury Panthers (3-0) on Tuesday, Feb. 10, at 3 p.m. at Mark Worley Field at Meador Park.

UCM did the bulk of its scoring in the bottom of the second inning, plating eight runs to race out to an 8-0 lead.

Jackson Bryant crossed home plate on a bases-loaded walk for the opening run of the inning before Grant Hollister belted a two-run double to right-center to drive in Austin Buie and Collin Dobson, upping the Central Missouri advantage to 3-0. Evan Vienhage kept the scoring going with an RBI double to left field, scoring Cole Funkhouser, before Hollister crossed home plate on an Arkansas Tech wild pitch. Bryant delivered the exclamation point in the inning, crushing a base-clearing, three-run triple to right field, making it 8-0, Mules.

After the Wonder Boys (1-6) scored runs in the third and fifth innings to cut the UCM lead to 8-2, the Mules responded with two runs in the bottom of the fifth, building their lead to 10-2.
