  • University of Central Missouri Jennies Basketball (16-5, 10-2 MIAA) is scheduled to host the Washburn Ichabods (15-6, 8-4 MIAA) on Saturday, Feb. 7, at 1 p.m. inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg.
  • Saturday's game is UCM Faculty & Staff Appreciation Day. In addition, UCM's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will run a pet supplies drive benefiting the Old Drum Animal Shelter in Warrensburg. Fans who bring a donation will receive half-price admission to the game.
  • Central Missouri is coming off an 81-69 win at then No. 5-ranked Fort Hays State on Jan. 31 in Hays, Kan. The victory snapped FHSU's 12-game winning streak.

  • In the MIAA team statistics, Central Missouri is fifth in scoring offense (71.7 ppg.), third in scoring defense (60.3 ppg.), second in scoring margin (+11.3), assists (15.5 apg.) and field-goal percentage (.438), third in free-throw percentage (.737), fifth in three-point field-goal percentage (.325) and rebounding (40.2 rpg.), and fourth in assist-to-turnover ratio (0.98) and blocks (3.9 bpg.).

SCORING AND CRASHING THE GLASS
  • Reese Schaaf leads the Jennies with 11 double-doubles on the season. She has posted nine consecutive double-doubles and has 10 double-doubles in her last 11 games entering Saturday.
  • Schaaf has shot at least 50 percent from the field in her last 11 games, including shooting above 60 percent in eight of them.
KNOCKING ON THE DOOR OF 1,000
  • Reese Schaaf is just three points shy of joining the University of Central Missouri Jennies Basketball 1,000 Point Club. She sits at 997 points entering the week. Schaaf is aiming to become the 32nd Jennies Basketball player to score at least 1,000 points in a Central Missouri uniform.
REESE SCHAAF, TAYLOR WEISHAAR AMONG JENNIES' CAREER LEADERS
  • Reese Schaaf is tied for fourth in career rebounding for the Jennies with 9.6 rebounds per game in 53 career contests. In addition, she is fourth in free-throw percentage at .843 (209-of-248) and fourth in scoring average at 18.8 points per game.
  • Taylor Weishaar is up to sixth in career blocks for the Jennies with 99 swats in 53 career games.
 
NATIONAL ACCOLADES FOR REESE SCHAAF
  • Reese Schaaf has been voted the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA)/D2CIDA NCAA Division II National Player of the Week for her performance on the basketball court during the week of Jan. 26 through Feb. 1. Schaaf led the Jennies to a pair of road wins last week – including one over fifth-ranked Fort Hays State – by averaging 28.5 points and 13.5 rebounds per game while going 19-of-28 (67.9 percent) from the field, 4-of-5 from three-point range, and 15-of-17 at the free throw line in the two contests.
JENNIES IN THE RANKINGS
  • For the first time in 2025-26, the Jennies are receiving votes (RV) in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division II Top 25 Poll. UCM received 19 votes in the most recent poll released on Tuesday, Feb. 3.
LAST TIME OUT: JENNIES TAKE DOWN NO. 5 FORT HAYS STATE ON THE ROAD SATURDAY, 81-69
  • Reese Schaaf netted 24 points, and Taylor Weishaar added 19 points as Central Missouri Jennies Basketball upset No. 5 Fort Hays State Tigers, 81-69, on Saturday, Jan. 31, inside Gross Memorial Coliseum.
  • UCM never trailed in the game, leading No. 5 Fort Hays State (19-2, 10-2 MIAA) for all 40 minutes of the contest on its way to the 12-point victory.
  • Schaaf went 9-of-15 from the floor, including 5-of-6 from the charity stripe, and pulled down 12 rebounds for her MIAA-best 11th double-double of the season.
  • Weishaar made five of 11 shots from the floor and went 8-of-10 at the free-throw line, while grabbing 11 rebounds, for her fifth double-double of 2025-26.
  • Neely Schaaf also reached double figures, with a season-best 16 points, on 5-of-8 from the floor, adding five rebounds and four assists.
  • For the game, Central Missouri shot 50 percent from the field (28-of-55), 33 percent from three-point range (8-of-24), and 77 percent at the free-throw line (17-of-22). The Jennies dominated the glass, out-rebounding the Tigers, 48-30, and outscoring FHSU in the paint, 38-34.
PRESEASON PICKS
  • The Jennies were voted fourth in both the 2025-26 MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll and MIAA Preseason Media Poll. UCM received 138 points and one first-place vote in the preseason coaches' poll and 271 points and four first-place votes in the preseason media poll.
NEW FACES JENNIES INK PAIR OF HIGH SCHOOL STANDOUTS
  • University of Central Missouri Jennies Basketball head coach Dave Slifer announced Tuesday, Nov. 25, the signing of two high school standouts to the program's 2026 recruiting class.
  • Regan Becker, a 6-foot-1 guard out of Blue Valley Northwest High School, and McKinli Mays, a 5-foot-7 guard out of El Dorado Springs High School, have signed to continue their education and compete at the University of Central Missouri beginning in the fall of 2026.
FAMILY CONNECTION
  • The Jennies have two siblings on the 2025-26 roster in El Dorado Springs natives senior Reese Schaaf and freshman Neely Schaaf.
SLIFER AMONG THE BEST
  • Jennies Basketball 22nd season head coach Dave Slifer is ranked fifth in career victories in all of NCAA (Division I, II, III) with 838 career wins in 36 years. In Division II, Slifer is second in career victories, trailing only Tom Shirley of Jefferson, who posted 905 victories in 43 years.
