FIRST PITCH

Central Missouri Jennies softball continues the 2026 campaign at the Alvy Early Memorial Classic, with a pair of doubleheaders beginning Friday, Feb. 6, from the Memorial Fields Complex in Bentonville, Ark.
The Jens will play Drury (11:00 a.m. – Field 1) and Southeastern Oklahoma State (1:30 p.m. – Field 1) on Friday, before taking on (Receiving Votes) Southern Arkansas (11:00 a.m. – Field 1) and Maryville (1:30 p.m. – Field 2) on Saturday.
Central Missouri opened the season with a 4-0 record at the Lonestar DII College Classic this past weekend, thanks to victories over Midwestern State (2-1), St. Edward's (8-5, 8 inn.), Southern Nazarene (5-1), and Missouri-St. Louis (3-2).
Central Missouri was picked fifth in the 2026 MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll, announced by the conference office on Friday, Jan. 23.

MEET THE JENS

Head coach Susan Anderson enters her 20^th season at the helm as the Jens return 12 players from last season's team, including All-MIAA selections Brooke Weimer (First Team Pitcher), Taylor Thompson (First Team Designated Player), Jadyn Sheffield (Gold Glove – Second Base), and Bailey Brumley (Honorable Mention).
Central Missouri added nine newcomers to the roster, including seven transfers in Cydney Fullerton (Creighton), Jenna Little (SIU Edwardsville), Kyrsten Moran (Butler CC), Bailey Ast (Northwest Missouri), Karman Rowe (Wisconsin-Whitewater), Taylor Kvale (Kansas City), and Riley Bebb (Kansas City), while adding two from the class of 2025 including Malia Bucksath (Liberty, Mo. / Liberty North HS) and Madelyn Ducheneaux (Sioux Falls, S.D. / Harrisburg HS).

JENS AROUND THE DIAMOND

Central Missouri returns seven position starters and three pitchers from a season ago as the Jens went 30-19 overall, and 14-10 in MIAA play.
The Jens made their 42^nd appearance at the MIAA Championships in 2025, earning the fifth seed in the tournament hosted by Fort Hays State.

SERIES HISTORY

Drury: Friday will be just the 13th all-time meeting with the Panthers, and the first since the 2020 season, as the Jens hold a 7-5 advantage in the series. Both teams split the most recent matchups, during a doubleheader on March 10, at the South Recreation Complex in Warrensburg.
Southeastern Oklahoma State: The Savage Storm and UCM will meet for the 15th time in program history Friday afternoon, as SE has an 8-6 advantage all-time. Both teams split the previous two meetings during the 2024 season, with the Savage Storm taking the most recent meeting, 5-3 at the Raising Cane's Softball Festival in Piedmont, Okla.
RV Southern Arkansas: Saturday morning will be the ninth all-time meeting between the Muleriders and Central Missouri, with Southern Arkansas holding a 5-3 record. The Muleriders won the most recent matchup, 5-0, during last season's Alvy Early Memorial Classic.
Maryville: The Saints and Central Missouri have met 14 times coming into play on Saturday afternoon, as the Jens hold an 8-6 advantage in the all-time series. UCM has won three of the last five, including a 3-2 win during the 2024 Alvy Early Memorial Classic.

UCM DURING THE ANDERSON ERA

Susan Anderson is in her 20^th season as head coach of the Jennies, where she is the second-winningest coach in program history with a record of 558-425 (.568). She became just the second coach in program history to eclipse 500 wins, doing so in game two of a double header against Fort Hays State (April 16, 2023) on Senior Day.
Since her return to Warrensburg in 2006, Anderson was the fastest coach to accomplish 100 wins, doing so in just three seasons while making 16 MIAA tournaments, five regional tournaments, and one Elite Eight appearance.
The 2015 Regional Coach of the Year has been named MIAA Coach of the Year three times in her career (twice named as head coach of the Jens) while coaching 20 first team All-MIAA selections, nine All-Region selections, two All-Americans, and one MIAA MVP.
