FIRST PITCH 
  • Central Missouri Jennies softball continues the 2026 campaign at the Midwest College Classic, with a pair of doubleheaders beginning Friday, Feb. 27, from the MidAmerica Sports Complex in Shawnee, Kan.  
  • The Jens will play Upper Iowa (3:00 p.m.) and Truman State (5:30 p.m.) on Friday, Feb. 27, before taking on Minnesota State-Moorhead (2:40 p.m.) and Bemidji State (5:00 p.m.) on Saturday, Feb. 28.  
  • Central Missouri went 3-0 at the Washburn Invitational with victories over Minnesota State (12-3, 6 inn.), MSU-Billings (7-0), and Minnesota-Crookston (9-4) this past weekend from Silver Lake High School, in Silver Lake, Kan.   
  • Central Missouri was picked fifth in the 2026 MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll, announced by the conference office on Friday, Jan. 23.

MEET THE JENS  
 
JENS AROUND THE DIAMOND
  • Central Missouri returns seven position starters and three pitchers from a season ago as the Jens went 30-19 overall, and 14-10 in MIAA play.
  • Through 11 games, Central Missouri has a .272 team batting average, scoring just over six runs per game, and sporting a .466 slugging percentage for good measure.
  • Four Jens are hitting above .300 on the year including Kyrsten Moran (.394), Lexi Blackmon (.379) Aly Hageman (.318), and Marisa Johnson (.308).
  • UCM has a 3.27 ERA through 11 games this season, while Andi Siebeneck paces the staff with a 4-1 record and a .258 batting average against in 24 1/3 innings pitched.
  • The Jens made their 42nd appearance at the MIAA Championships in 2025, earning the fifth seed in the tournament hosted by Fort Hays State.
 
 
SERIES HISTORY
  • Upper Iowa: Friday will be the 11th all-time meeting between the Peacocks and Central Missouri, with the Jens holding a 7-3 advantage in the series. The most recent matchup was an 8-7 UCM loss on Sunday, Feb. 17, at the 2019 Conway Tournament in Conway, Ark.
  • Truman State: Friday night will be the 111th all-time meeting with the Bulldogs, as the Jens hold a 62-48 advantage in the series, including a record of 24-23 in neutral site games. The opening game of the 2024 season was the last time these two teams met, with TSU winning 6-3 at the Alvy Early Memorial Classic in Bentonville, Ark.  
  • Minnesota State-Moorhead: The Dragons and Central Missouri will meet for the eighth time in program history Saturday afternoon, as the Jens hold a 5-2 advantage. Their most recent matchups came during the 2024 season, when the Dragons swept a doubleheader on Thursday, March 14, at the South Recreation Complex in Warrensburg.     
  • Bemidji State: Saturday night will be the third all-time meeting between the Beavers and Central Missouri, with the Jens winning the previous two meetings in a doubleheader sweep during the 2024 campaign, winning 2-1 and 3-0 on Friday, March 15, at the South Recreation Complex in Warrensburg.   
 

UCM DURING THE ANDERSON ERA
  • Susan Anderson is in her 20th season as head coach of the Jennies, where she is the second-winningest coach in program history with a record of 558-425 (.568). She became just the second coach in program history to eclipse 500 wins, doing so in game two of a double header against Fort Hays State (April 16, 2023) on Senior Day.
  • Since her return to Warrensburg in 2006, Anderson was the fastest coach to accomplish 100 wins, doing so in just three seasons while making 16 MIAA tournaments, five regional tournaments, and one Elite Eight appearance.
  • The 2015 Regional Coach of the Year has been named MIAA Coach of the Year three times in her career (twice named as head coach of the Jens) while coaching 20 first team All-MIAA selections, nine All-Region selections, two All-Americans, and one MIAA MVP.
