TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – No. 5-ranked University of Central Missouri Mules Baseball completed a three-game MIAA series sweep at Northeastern State University with a 17-4, seven-inning victory over the RiverHawks on Sunday afternoon, Feb. 22, at Rousey Field.
The Mules (11-2, 3-0 MIAA) are scheduled to travel to St. Louis, Mo., for a midweek game at Maryville on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 2 p.m.
Central Missouri scored four runs in the top of the third inning and added two in the top of the fourth inning and never looked back on its way to the blowout win over the RiverHawks.
Drew Veatch went 3-for-5 with two runs and an RBI,
Grant Hollister went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs, and two RBI,
Chase Wilcox was 2-for-4 with a double, three runs and three runs batted in,
Cole Funkhouser was 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI, and
Jackson Helberg was 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI, pacing UCM offensively in the victory.

Kasey Crawford (2-0) earned the win on the mound after tossing a scoreless bottom of the seventh inning with two strikeouts and zero walks. Starting pitcher
Sawyer Allen went 3 2/3 innings and gave up just one earned run on two hits with a career-high nine strikeouts and only one walk.
The Mules outhit the RiverHawks (4-8, 0-3 MIAA), 14-6, and committed zero errors compared to three for NSU.
