FIRST PITCH 
  • Central Missouri Jennies softball continues the 2026 campaign at the Washburn Invitational, with a trio of games beginning Friday, Feb. 20, from Silver Lake High School in Silver Lake, Kan.  
  • The Jens will play Minnesota State on Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m., before taking on Montana State-Billings (12:00 p.m.) and Minnesota-Crookston (4:00 p.m.) on Saturday, Feb. 21.  
  • Central Missouri went 2-2 at the Alvy Early Memorial Classic with victories over Drury (4-2) and Maryville (7-3) in Bentonville, Ark.  
  • Central Missouri was picked fifth in the 2026 MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll, announced by the conference office on Friday, Jan. 23.

MEET THE JENS  
 
JENS AROUND THE DIAMOND
  • Central Missouri returns seven position starters and three pitchers from a season ago as the Jens went 30-19 overall, and 14-10 in MIAA play.
  • Through eight games, Central Missouri has a .254 team batting average, scoring just under five runs per game, and sporting a .458 slugging percentage for good measure.
  • Four Jens are hitting above .300 on the year including Lexi Blackmon (.400), Krysten Moran (.391), Bailey Brumley (.346), and Taylor Thompson (.304).
  • UCM has a 3.56 ERA through eight games this season, while Andi Siebeneck paces the staff with a 3-1 record and a .289 batting average against in 19 innings pitched.
  • The Jens made their 42nd appearance at the MIAA Championships in 2025, earning the fifth seed in the tournament hosted by Fort Hays State.
 
 
SERIES HISTORY
  • Minnesota State: Friday will be the 28th all-time meeting with the Mavericks, as the Jens hold a 14-13 advantage in the series. In two meetings a season ago, both teams won a game, with Central Missouri taking the most recent matchup 6-5 (8 inn.) during the Top Gun College Classic finale from the MidAmerica Sports Complex in Shawnee, Kan.  
  • Montana State-Billings: The Yellowjackets and Central Missouri will meet for the first time in program history Saturday afternoon.    
  • Minnesota-Crookston: Saturday will be the third all-time meeting between the Golden Eagles and Central Missouri, with the Jens winning the previous two games, including an 8-0 (5 inn.) victory during last season's Washburn Invitational.  
 

UCM DURING THE ANDERSON ERA
  • Susan Anderson is in her 20th season as head coach of the Jennies, where she is the second-winningest coach in program history with a record of 558-425 (.568). She became just the second coach in program history to eclipse 500 wins, doing so in game two of a double header against Fort Hays State (April 16, 2023) on Senior Day.
  • Since her return to Warrensburg in 2006, Anderson was the fastest coach to accomplish 100 wins, doing so in just three seasons while making 16 MIAA tournaments, five regional tournaments, and one Elite Eight appearance.
  • The 2015 Regional Coach of the Year has been named MIAA Coach of the Year three times in her career (twice named as head coach of the Jens) while coaching 20 first team All-MIAA selections, nine All-Region selections, two All-Americans, and one MIAA MVP.
