  • University of Central Missouri Jennies Basketball (14-5, 8-2 MIAA) is set to travel to Kearney, Neb., and Hays, Kan., for a pair of MIAA road games on Thursday, Jan. 29, and Saturday, Jan. 31. The Jennies are slated to face the Nebraska Kearney Lopers (11-10, 4-6 MIAA) on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. inside the Health and Sports Center before taking on the No. 5-ranked Fort Hays State Tigers (18-1, 9-1 MIAA) on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Gross Memorial Coliseum.
  • UCM is coming off a 77-59 victory over the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats on Friday, Jan. 23, in Warrensburg.

SCORING AND CRASHING THE GLASS
  • Reese Schaaf leads the Jennies with nine double-doubles on the season. She has posted seven consecutive double-doubles and has eight double-doubles in her last nine games entering Thursday. Schaaf ranks first in the conference and 12th in NCAA-II in double-doubles on the season.
  • Schaaf has shot at least 50 percent from the field in her last nine games, including shooting above 60 percent in six of them.

  • Reese Schaaf is ranked fifth in career rebounding for the Jennies with 9.4 rebounds per game in 51 career contests. In addition, she is fourth in free-throw percentage at .840 (194-of-231) and fourth in scoring average at 18.4 points per game.
  • Taylor Weishaar is up to seventh in career blocks for the Jennies with 93 swats in 51 career games.
LAST TIME OUT: BALANCED ATTACK LEADS JENNIES PAST NORTHWEST MISSOURI, 77-59
  • Reese Schaaf tallied her ninth double-double of the season, Taylor Weishaar netted 17 points, and Makenzie Farmer added 10 points, helping the University of Central Missouri Jennies Basketball team post a 77-59 win over the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats on a frigid Friday evening, Jan. 23, inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in the annual Blackout Game.
  • Central Missouri outscored Northwest Missouri (10-10, 3-7 MIAA) in the first quarter, 24-14, and never looked back, leading by as much as 22 points on its way to the 18-point victory.
  • Schaaf had a game-high 25 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the field, including a 2-of-4 performance from three-point range, and went 3-of-6 at the free-throw line, while pulling down 10 rebounds for her seventh consecutive and team-best ninth double-double of 2025-26.
  • Weishaar scored her 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the floor and added eight rebounds and four assists, and Farmer went 4-of-8 from the field and 2-of-4 from beyond the arc for her 10 points. Jolie Bonderer chipped in nine points, and Maryville, Mo., native Rylee Vierthaler added eight points, rounding out the UCM leaders.
  • The Jennies shot 51 percent from the floor (29-of-57), 40 percent from three-point range (8-of-20), and were 79 percent at the free-throw line (11-of-14) in the game. Central Missouri outrebounded Northwest Missouri, 32-28, and outscored the Bearcats off turnovers, 15-6.
PRESEASON PICKS
  • The Jennies were voted fourth in both the 2025-26 MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll and MIAA Preseason Media Poll. UCM received 138 points and one first-place vote in the preseason coaches' poll and 271 points and four first-place votes in the preseason media poll.
NEW FACES JENNIES INK PAIR OF HIGH SCHOOL STANDOUTS
  • University of Central Missouri Jennies Basketball head coach Dave Slifer announced Tuesday, Nov. 25, the signing of two high school standouts to the program's 2026 recruiting class.
  • Regan Becker, a 6-foot-1 guard out of Blue Valley Northwest High School, and McKinli Mays, a 5-foot-7 guard out of El Dorado Springs High School, have signed to continue their education and compete at the University of Central Missouri beginning in the fall of 2026.
FAMILY CONNECTION
  • The Jennies have two siblings on the 2025-26 roster in El Dorado Springs natives senior Reese Schaaf and freshman Neely Schaaf.
SLIFER AMONG THE BEST
  • Jennies Basketball 22nd season head coach Dave Slifer is ranked fifth in career victories in all of NCAA (Division I, II, III) with his 836 career wins in 36 years. In Division II, Slifer is second in career victories, trailing only Tom Shirley of Jefferson, who posted 905 victories in 43 years.
