Mules Baseball has Three Selected on Day Two of 2025 MLB Draft

ATLANTA – University of Central Missouri Mules Baseball had three players selected on the second and final day of the 2025 Major League Baseball (MLB) Draft on Monday, July 14, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Right-handed pitcher Nathan Hall was drafted in the sixth round at pick number 193 by the New York Mets, while fellow right-handed pitcher JD McReynolds was drafted in the 10th round by the Texas Rangers at pick number 295, and catcher Chase Heath was taken in the 20th and final round at pick number 600 by the St. Louis Cardinals.

The three picks are the most since Central Missouri had a program-record six players selected in 2005 and brings Mules Baseball's total of all-time drafted players to 40.

UCM's three picks are also the most 2025 MLB Draft picks of any college baseball program in the state of Missouri.

He made four starts in 2025, posting a 3.07 ERA and allowing just five earned runs on 12 hits with 19 strikeouts in 14 2/3 innings before being sidelined with an injury for the remainder of the season.

McReynolds gave up just 24 earned runs on 63 hits with 200 strikeouts and only 56 walks in 121 1/3 career innings of work.  He was named an All-American four times during his time at UCM.

He was named an Honorable Mention All-MIAA selection as a catcher and was selected to the 2025 NCAA Division II College World Series All-Tournament Team. In his career as a Mule, Heath posted a .349 batting average with 128 runs, 151 hits, 33 doubles, two triples, 27 home runs, 144 RBI, a .621 slugging percentage, 58 walks, a .428 on-base percentage, and 20 stolen bases in 146 career games.
