 FIRST PITCH 
  • No. 5 Central Missouri Jennies softball makes their 42nd appearance at the MIAA Championships taking on No. 4 Missouri Southern (36-16, 16-8 MIAA) Thursday, May 1, with first pitch slated for 1:30 p.m. from Fleharty Family Field in Hays, Kan.
  • Four Jens earned All-MIAA honors this week including sophomores Brooke Weimer (Pitcher) and Taylor Thompson (Designated Player) who were First Team selections while second baseman Jadyn Sheffield earned a Gold Glove nod and junior Bailey Brumley garnered Honorable Mention accolades.    
  • During the 2025 regular season, Central Missouri had a team batting average of .305 scoring 5.7 runs per game with five Jens hitting .300 or better including Taylor Thompson (.375), Bailey Brumley (.367), short stop Aly Hageman (.304), outfielder Lexi Blackmon (.303), and Jadyn Sheffield (.301).
  • Central Missouri is paced in the circle by Brooke Weimer's 13-8 overall record including 170 strikeouts, a 1.92 ERA, and 17 complete-game performances in 138 1/3 innings of work while Emily Brouse (9-5) has record 104 punchouts in 105 1/3 innings and Andi Siebeneck (6-5) leads the team with two saves in 22 appearances.

CENTRAL MISSOURI AT THE MIAA SOFTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS
  • This is the 42nd all-time appearance for the Jens with an overall record of 78-59 including eight tournament titles with the most recent coming in 2021.  
  • No. 4 Missouri Southern: Thursday afternoon's ballgame against the Lions will be the 10th all-time meeting in the MIAA Championships with the Jens holding a 5-4 advantage. MSSU won the previous matchup during the 2024 MIAA Championship opener 3-2 from Gerry Pinkston Stadium in Edmond, Okla.
  • The Lions and Central Missouri split their regular season doubleheader with the Jens claiming game two in walk-off fashion by a final score of 6-5 (9 inn.) in Warrensburg.  
 
JENS AROUND THE DIAMOND
  • Lexi Blackmon has started all 48 games during the regular season serving as the Jens lead-off hitter and center fielder posting a .303 batting average with 50 hits including 10 for extra-bases while leading the team with 38 runs scored and 13 stolen bases. The Peculiar, Mo. native had 15 multi-hit games which are tied for the most on the team including four games with three hits. She currently is on a four-game hit streak entering play Thursday afternoon in Hays.
  • 2025 All-MIAA Gold Glove second baseman Jadyn Sheffield has started all 48 games during the regular season for UCM sporting a .987 fielding percentage along with a .301 batting average collecting 44 hits including nine for extra-bases while scoring 36 runs (second-most) and driving in 21 RBI. The junior has eight multi-hit performances in 2025 highlighted by a career-best four base knocks against Missouri-St. Louis (March 25).  
  • Bailey Brumley was named to the 2025 All-MIAA Honorable Mention team after finishing the regular season with a .367 batting average collecting the second-most hits (54), RBI (39), and total bases (75) making 41 starts at first base. The Blue Springs, Mo. native led the Jens with 15 multi-hit games in 2025 including four games with three hits while posting multiple RBI in 10 ballgames. Brumley also made five appearances in the circle this season, posting 11 strikeouts in 17 innings of work.
  • First Team All-MIAA Designated Player Taylor Thompson paces the Jens offense with a .375 batting average with 57 hits, 17 doubles, and nine dingers while driving in 50 RBI. Thompson has reached base safely in 19 consecutive games coming into play Thursday while recording an 18-game hitting streak, the longest by a hitter for Central Missouri in 2025. Taylor has started all 48 games this season for the Jens with 25 coming as the DP and 23 behind the plate with 34 hitting in the cleanup spot.
  • Senior Morgan Shields has started all 48 games at the hot corner for UCM posting a .273 batting average with 33 hits with five doubles and the second-most dingers on the team with eight. The Troy, Mo. native leads the team with 23 walks drawn while collecting 62 total bases and 30 RBI including seven games with multiple runs driven in. Sheilds had a season-best six-game hitting streak as the Jens are 17-7 when she hits in the five spot in the lineup.  
  • Outfielder Marisa Johnson has started 47 games for Central Missouri recording 39 hits including 14 for extra-bases while posting 64 total bases, 33 RBI, and five homers as a freshman. The De Soto, Kan. native had 10 multi-hit games during the regular season including six games with three hits while being one of three players to have double-digit multi-RBI performances. Johnson's seven-game hitting streak and her 11 straight games of reaching base safely are the fourth-longest for Central Missouri in 2025.
  • Junior Aly Hageman started all 48 games at short stop during the regular season posting the third-highest batting average on the team at .304 with 42 hits including 11 for extra-bases while grabbing 55 total bases and driving in 16 RBI. The Butler CC transfer leads the team with two triples while posting top five marks in numerous offensive categories including on base percentage (.383), runs scored (30), and doubles (9). Hageman had nine multi-hit performances in 2025 while recording the second longest hitting streak at 12 games and has reached base safely in four consecutive ballgames entering play Thursday.
  • Outfielder Emma McCall has played 39 games this season making 37 starts for the Jens in right field posting a .214 average with 22 hits including three for extra bases. The Shawnee, Kan. native recorded six multi-hit outings including four games driving in multiple runs and reached base safely in seven consecutive games for good measure. Central Missouri is 23-14 when McCall is in right field while the team is 18-9 when Emma bats in the eight spot during regular season play.
 
CENTRAL MISSOURI IN THE CIRCLE
  • The Jens have a team ERA of 2.82 on the season allowing 262 hits, 167 runs with 130 of them earned while striking out 325 batters and allowing a .220 batting average to opposing teams in 322 2/3 innings of work.
  • 2025 All-MIAA First Team selection Brooke Weimer paces Central Missouri with a 13-8 record in 25 appearances including 22 starts with 17 complete-game performances striking out 170 batters in 138 1/3 innings. The sophomore tossed a no-hitter against Missouri Western (March 22) where she struck out eight batters collecting her 200th career punch out in the process. Opposing teams are hitting .174 against the right hander as she leads the Jens with seven double-digit strikeout performances in 2025.
  • Senior Emily Brouse has made 23 appearances in the circle including 18 starts where UCM is 14-4. The New Mexico transfer has a 9-5 record with a 3.66 ERA striking out 104 batters with five complete-game performances in 105 1/3 innings of work. The right hander posted a season-high eight punch outs in four games this season while recording five or more in nine ballgames.
  • Jefferson City, Mo. native Andi Siebeneck leads Central Missouri with two saves on the season making 22 appearances including two starts while striking out 40 batters in 62 innings of work. 
 
UCM DURING THE ANDERSON ERA
  • Susan Anderson is in her 19th season as head coach of the Jennies where she is the second winningest coach in program history with a record of 558-424 (.568) becoming just the second coach in program history to eclipse 500 wins doing so in game two of a double header against Fort Hays State (April 16, 2023) on Senior Day.
  • Since her return to Warrensburg in 2006, Anderson is the fastest coach to accomplish 100 wins doing so in just three seasons while making 15 MIAA tournaments, five regional tournaments and one Elite Eight appearances.
  • The 2015 Regional Coach of the Year has been named MIAA Coach of the Year three times in her career (twice named as head coach of the Jens) while coaching 18 first team All-MIAA selections, nine All-Region selections, two All-Americans and one MIAA MVP.
