 FIRST PITCH 
  • Central Missouri Jennies softball begins MIAA play with a pair of doubleheaders beginning Saturday, March 8, against Fort Hays State at 1:00 p.m. from Fleharty Family Field before taking on Nebraska-Kearney on Sunday, March 9, with first pitch of game one slated for 12:00 p.m. from Dryden Park in Kearney, Neb.  
  • The Jens went 2-2 at the Top Gun College Classic in Shawnee, Kan. with victories over Maryville (9-0, 5 inn.) and Minnesota State by a final score of 6-5 (8 inn.).
  • So far this season, Central Missouri features four batters with a .300 or higher batting average among qualifying hitters including Bailey Brumley (.361), Taylor Thompson (.357), Morgan Shields (.343), and Marisa Johnson (.333) while as a team Central Missouri has a .278 average.
  • The Jens are paced in the circle by junior Andi Siebeneck who has a perfect 3-0 record in five appearances while senior Emily Brouse (2-2) leads the team with a 3.05 ERA in 36 2/3 innings pitched, and Brooke Weimer (3-4) leads the team with 49 strikeouts and five complete game performances.

AROUND THE DIAMOND
  • Central Missouri returns six position starters from last season including Lexi Blackmon, Laney Killpack, Jadyn Sheffield, Taylor Thompson, and Breanna Newton.
  • In the circle UCM returns two pitchers from 2024 including Andi Siebeneck and Brooke Weimer.  
  • So far this season, the Jens have a team batting average of .278 while scoring 80 runs averaging 5.7 runs per contest and have stolen 10 bases on 14 attempts (.786).
  • Through 14 games in 2025, Central Missouri has a fielding percentage of .976 on 376 chances.   
 
INDIVIDUAL MILESTONES
  • Marisa Johnson is tied for the lead with five multi-hit games on the year while having the fourth highest average (.333). Her 14 hits is second-most for Central Missouri and is one of six batters to hit a home run in 2025. The freshman leads the team with seven extra-base hits including six doubles and 21 total bases for good measure.   
  • Bailey Brumley has three multi-hit games this season for the Jens thanks to a 3-for-3 outing against Northern State (Feb. 23) belting her second home run on the year (leads UCM) in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Blue Springs, Mo. native is second on the team with 22 total bases and her 13 hits is third most.   
  • Jadyn Sheffield recorded her first multi-hit game of 2025 going 3-for-4 in the victory over No. 23 McKendree (Feb. 14) plating three RBI while scoring twice for good measure. The junior leads the team with four stolen bases and is one of six Jens to start all 14 games so far this season.
  • Taylor Thompson hit her first home run of the season against Maryville (Feb. 14) ending the game going a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with five RBI and four runs scored. The sophomore has three multi-hit games this season while leading the team with 15 RBI.
  • Morgan Shields' five multi-hit games is tied for the most on the team while her .343 batting average is third-best as the senior recorded a 2-for-4 performance against Rockhurst (Feb. 28) with two runs scored while hitting her first dinger of the season in the bottom of the sixth.
  • Lexi Blackmon is one of six Jens to start all 14 games so far this season recording three multi-hit games with the latest came against Rockhurst (Feb. 28) where she was 2-for-2 with three RBI, belting her first career home run for Central Missouri.   
  • Aly Hageman plated her first RBI for the Jens with a double in the bottom of the sixth inning against Illinois-Springfield (Feb. 7) en route to her first multi-hit performance going 3-for-4 with three runs scored.
  • Andi Siebeneck hit her first career homerun in the bottom of the second inning against Illinois-Springfield (Feb. 7) providing the first run of the year for the Jens and is one of six batters to hit a home run so far this season.
 
 SERIES HISTORY
  • Fort Hays State: Tomorrow afternoon will be the 49th and 50th all-time meetings between the Jens and FHSU with Central Missouri leading the series 30-18. Last season the Tigers won both contests at home on Saturday, April 13, by scores of 3-2 and 2-1.  
  • Nebraska-Kearney: Sunday's games against Nebraska-Kearney will be the 31st and 32nd all-time meetings with the Jens holding a 22-10 record. A season ago, both teams won a game during their doubleheader on Friday, April 12, in Kearney where the Lopers won game one 1-0 (8 inn.) before Central Missouri took game two 10-1 (5 inn.).
  
UCM DURING the ANDERSON ERA
  • Susan Anderson enters her 19th season as head coach of the Jennies where she is the second winningest coach in program history with a record of 530-408 (.565) becoming just the second coach in program history to eclipse 500 wins doing so in game two of a double header against Fort Hays State (April 16, 2023) on Senior Day.
  • Since her return to Warrensburg in 2006, Anderson is the fastest coach to accomplish 100 wins doing so in just three seasons while making 14 MIAA tournament, five regional tournaments and one Elite Eight appearances.
  • The 2015 Regional Coach of the Year has been named MIAA Coach of the Year three times in her career (twice named as head coach of the Jens) while coaching 18 first team All-MIAA selections, nine All-Region selections, two All-Americans and one MIAA MVP.
