 FIRST PITCH 
  • Central Missouri Jennies softball continues the 2025 season hosting a pair of mid-week doubleheaders against the Lincoln Blue Tigers Tuesday, March 11, followed by a pair of games with the Northern State Wolves on Thursday, March 13, with game one's first pitch both days scheduled for 2:00 p.m. from Jennies Field at the South Recreation Complex in Warrensburg.   
  • The Jens split a doubleheader with the Nebraska-Kearney Lopers defeating them 9-0 (5 inn.) before falling 3-2 on Sunday, March 9, from Dryden Park in Kearney, Neb.  
  • So far this season, Central Missouri features five batters with a .300 or higher batting average among qualifying hitters including Taylor Thompson (.382), Morgan Shields (.370), Jadyn Sheffield (.358), Bailey Brumley (.340), and Marisa Johnson (.302) while as a team Central Missouri has a .288 average.
  • The Jens are paced in the circle by Brooke Weimer's 60 strikeouts and six complete-game performances in 45 2/3 innings in nine appearances of work while Emily Brouse (3-2) has a team-best 46 innings pitched with 54 punchouts in nine appearances.

AROUND THE DIAMOND
  • Central Missouri returns six position starters from last season including Lexi Blackmon, Laney Killpack, Jadyn Sheffield, Taylor Thompson, and Breanna Newton.
  • In the circle UCM returns two pitchers from 2024 including Andi Siebeneck and Brooke Weimer.  
  • So far this season, the Jens have a team batting average of .288 while scoring 100 runs averaging 5.6 runs per contest and have stolen 12 bases on 16 attempts (.750).
  • Through 18 games in 2025, Central Missouri has a fielding percentage of .975 on 473 chances.   
 
INDIVIDUAL MILESTONES
  • Taylor Thompson leads the team with a .382 batting average while hiting her second home run of the season against Nebraska-Kearney (March 9) in game one going 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBI and two runs scored. The sophomore has a team-high six multi-hit games this season while leading the team with 18 RBI and 33 total bases.
  • Morgan Shields' .370 batting average is second highest on the team while her four multi-hit games is tied for third-best as the senior recorded a 2-for-3 performance against Fort Hays State (March 8) with two runs scored and three RBI while hitting her second homer of the season in the top of the second of game one.
  • Jadyn Sheffield recorded her fourth multi-hit game of 2025 going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two doubles in game two against Nebraska-Kearney (March 9). The junior belted her first dinger on the year in game one against the Lopers (March 9) in the top of the first en route to a 9-0 (5 inn.) win while her 19 hits ranks second on the team and is one of six Jens to start all 18 games so far this season.
  • Bailey Brumley's .340 batting average is third highest for Central Missouri while her four multi-hit games is tied for third. Her latest multi-hit game was in game one against the Lopers (March 9) where she went 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI in the 9-0 (5 inn.) victory. The Blue Springs, Mo. native has 26 total bases and 17 hits which are third most.  
  • Marisa Johnson is second on the team with five multi-hit games with the fifth highest average at .302 for good measure. Her 16 hits are fifth-most for Central Missouri and is one of four batters to hit two home runs in 2025. The freshman leads the team with eight extra-base hits including six doubles and 28 total bases.   
  • Lexi Blackmon is one of six Jens to start all 18 games so far this season recording three multi-hit games with the latest came against Rockhurst (Feb. 28) where she was 2-for-2 with three RBI, belting her first career home run for Central Missouri.   
  • Aly Hageman recorded her second multi-hit performance of the year in game two against Nebraska-Kearney going 2-for-3 while her four doubles is second most on the Jens and her .275 batting average ranks six best  
  • Andi Siebeneck hit her first career home run in the bottom of the second inning against Illinois-Springfield (Feb. 7) providing the first run of the year for the Jens and is one of six batters to hit a home run so far this season.
   
SERIES HISTORY
  • Lincoln: Tomorrow afternoon will be the 76th and 77th all-time meetings between the Jens and LU with Central Missouri leading the series 71-4. Last season the Jens won both contests at home on Tuesday, March 19, by scores of 8-0 (5 inn.) and 2-0.  
  • Northern State: Thursday afternoon's games against Northern State will be the ninth and 10th all-time meetings with the Jens holding a 7-1 record. This will be the second and third times playing this season following a 4-0 UCM victory on Sunday, Feb. 23, in the opening game of the Washburn Invitational.  
  
UCM DURING the ANDERSON ERA
  • Susan Anderson enters her 19th season as head coach of the Jennies where she is the second winningest coach in program history with a record of 530-408 (.565) becoming just the second coach in program history to eclipse 500 wins doing so in game two of a double header against Fort Hays State (April 16, 2023) on Senior Day.
  • Since her return to Warrensburg in 2006, Anderson is the fastest coach to accomplish 100 wins doing so in just three seasons while making 14 MIAA tournament, five regional tournaments and one Elite Eight appearances.
  • The 2015 Regional Coach of the Year has been named MIAA Coach of the Year three times in her career (twice named as head coach of the Jens) while coaching 18 first team All-MIAA selections, nine All-Region selections, two All-Americans and one MIAA MVP.
