FIRST PITCH 
  • Central Missouri Jennies softball continues the 2025 season with four games at the Top Gun College Classic beginning Friday, Feb. 28, against Augustana (S.D.) at 1:30 p.m. before taking on Rockhurst at 4:00 p.m. from Mid-America Sports Complex Field 1 followed by a pair of games on Sunday, March 2, against Maryville at 10:00 a.m. from Field 3 and concluding with a matchup against Minnesota State beginning at 12:30 p.m. from Field 1 in Shawnee, Kan.  
  • The Jens went 2-2 at the Washburn Invitational in Topeka, Kan. with victories over Northern State (4-0) and Minnesota-Crookston by a final score of 8-0 (5 inn.).
  • So far this season, Central Missouri features four batters with a .300 or higher batting average among qualifying hitters including Morgan Shields (.375), Marisa Johnson (.355), Jadyn Sheffield (.345), and Taylor Thompson (.344) while Teelie Super (.500), Bailey Brumley (.438), Anna Lee Kulka (.333), Brooke Weimer (.333), and Laney Killpack (.333) also sport an average north of .300.
  • The Jens are paced in the circle by junior Andi Siebeneck who has a 3-0 record in four appearances while senior Emily Brouse leads the team with 32 strikeouts tossing a team-best 27 1/3 innings and Brooke Weimer has thrown a team-high three complete games.

INDIVIDUAL MILESTONES
  • Marisa Johnson leads the team with four multi-hit games on the year while having the second highest average (.355) among qualifying batters while collecting 11 hits which is tied for the most for Central Missouri and is one of four batters to hit a home run in 2025. The freshman leads the team with five extra-base hits including four doubles and her 18 total bases ranks second.   
  • Bailey Brumley has three multi-hit games this season for the Jens thanks to a 3-for-3 outing against Northern State (Feb. 23) belting her second home run on the year (leads UCM) in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Blue Springs, Mo. native also leads the team with 19 total bases and is tied for the lead with 11 hits in 2025.   
  • Jadyn Sheffield recorded her first multi-hit game of 2025 going 3-for-4 in the victory over No. 23 McKendree (Feb. 14) plating three RBI while scoring twice for good measure. The junior leads the team with four stolen bases and is one of six Jens to start all 10 games so far this season.
  • Taylor Thompson hit her first home run of the season against Maryville (Feb. 14) ending the game going a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with five RBI and four runs scored. The sophomore has two multi-hit games this season while leading the team with 13 RBI.
  • Morgan Shields' .375 average leads the team as she collected her first multi-hit game of the season against Maryville (Feb. 14) going 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs scored and one RBI.
  • Lexi Blackmon has two multi-hit games on the season doing so against Southern Arkansas (Feb. 7) going 2-for-4 while her latest came during the 11-10 (8 inn.) victory over No. 23 McKendree (Feb. 14) going 2-for-5 with a run scored. Blackmon is also a perfect 2-for-2 in stolen base opportunities.  
  • Aly Hageman plated her first RBI for the Jens with a double in the bottom of the sixth inning against Illinois-Springfield (Feb. 7) en route to her first multi-hit performance going 3-for-4 with three runs scored.
  • Andi Siebeneck hit her first career homerun in the bottom of the second inning against Illinois-Springfield (Feb. 7) providing the first run of the year for the Jens and is one of four batters to hit a home run so far this season.
 
  
SERIES HISTORY
  • Augusta (S.D.): This will be the 16th all-time meeting between the Vikings and Central Missouri with Augustana having a 14-9 advantage following an AU doubleheader sweep during the 2023 season in Warrensburg.
  • Rockhurst:  Friday evening's game with the will be the 16th all-time meeting with the Jens having a 10-5 record. The Hawks won the previous two games which came during the 2023 season on April 18 in Kansas City, Mo.  
  • Maryville: This will be the 12th all-time meeting between the Saints and Central Missouri and the second of the 2025 season. The Jens hold a 7-4 advantage following a 15-6 win in the opening game of the Branson Battle Classic (Feb. 14) where eight UCM players recorded a hit including three with multi-hit outings.
  • Minnesota State: Sunday's contest against the Mavericks will be the 27th all-time meeting with the series tied at 13 wins a piece following Minnesota State's 2-0 win in the third game of the Washburn Invitational (Feb. 24).  
  
  
UCM DURING the ANDERSON ERA
  • Susan Anderson enters her 19th season as head coach of the Jennies where she is the second winningest coach in program history with a record of 530-408 (.565) becoming just the second coach in program history to eclipse 500 wins doing so in game two of a double header against Fort Hays State (April 16, 2023) on Senior Day.
  • Since her return to Warrensburg in 2006, Anderson is the fastest coach to accomplish 100 wins doing so in just three seasons while making 14 MIAA tournament, five regional tournaments and one Elite Eight appearances.
  • The 2015 Regional Coach of the Year has been named MIAA Coach of the Year three times in her career (twice named as head coach of the Jens) while coaching 18 first team All-MIAA selections, nine All-Region selections, two All-Americans and one MIAA MVP.
