 FIRST PITCH 
  • Central Missouri Jennies softball continues the 2025 season with four games in the Washburn Invitational beginning Sunday, Feb. 23, against Northern State (Silver Lake HS) at 1:30 p.m. before taking on Minnesota-Crookston (Washburn Rural HS) at 7:30 p.m. followed by a pair of games on Monday, Feb. 24, against Minnesota State at 1:30 p.m. and concluding with a matchup against Wayne State (Neb.) beginning at 3:30 p.m. from Silver Lake HS in Topeka, Kan.  
  • The Jens went 2-0 at the Branson Battle Classic from Branson, Mo. with victories over Maryville 15-6 before taking down No. 23 McKendree by a final score of 11-10 (8 inn.).
  • So far this season, Central Missouri features four batters with a .300 or higher batting average among qualifying hitters in Marisa Johnson (.550), Taylor Thompson (.429), Morgan Shields (.400), and Jadyn Sheffield (.368) while Anna Lee Kulka (.500), Bailey Brumley (.438), Breanna Newton (.333), and Laney Killpack (.333) also sport an average north of .300.
  • The Jens are paced in the circle by junior Andi Siebeneck who has a 3-0 record in four appearances while senior Emily Brouse leads the team with 18 strikeouts tossing a team-best 18 1/3 innings.

INDIVIDUAL MILESTONES
  • Andi Siebeneck hit her first career homerun in the bottom of the second inning against Illinois-Springfield (Feb. 7) providing the first run of the year for the Jens.
  • Lexi Blackmon is tied for the lead with two multi-hit games on the season doing so against Southern Arkansas (Feb. 7) going 2-for-4 while her latest came during the 11-10 (8 inn.) victory over No. 23 McKendree (Feb. 14) going 2-for-5 with a run scored.
  • Bailey Brumley recorded her first multi-hit game with the Jens against William Jewell (Feb. 8) going 3-for-4 with a game-high five RBI before hitting her first home run at UCM in the bottom of the fifth inning during the 11-10 (8 inn.) victory over No. 23 McKendree (Feb. 14). The Blue Springs, Mo. native is tied for the lead in multi-hit games on the year with two.
  • Aly Hageman plated her first RBI for the Jens with a double in the bottom of the sixth inning against Illinois-Springfield (Feb. 7) en route to her first multi-hit performance going 3-for-4 with three runs scored.
  • Marisa Johnson had her first collegiate hit with a single against Illinois-Springfield in the bottom of the fifth inning before plating her first collegiate RBI in the bottom of the sixth with a single. Johnson recorded her first multi-hit game against William Jewell (Feb. 8) going 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored and hit her first collegiate home run with a solo shot in the bottom of the fifth inning during the 11-10 (8 inn.) victory over No. 23 McKendree (Feb. 14).     
  • Taylor Thompson hit her first home run of the season against Maryville (Feb. 14) ending the game going a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with five RBI and four runs scored.
  • Morgan Shields collected her first multi-hit game of the season against Maryville (Feb. 14) going 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs scored and one RBI.
  • Jadyn Sheffield recorded her first multi-hit game of 2025 going 3-for-4 in the victory over No. 23 McKendree (Feb. 14) plating three RBI while scoring twice for good measure.
 
 
SERIES HISTORY
  • Northern State: This will be the eighth all-time meeting between the Wolves and Central Missouri with the Jens having a 6-1 lead following a UCM doubleheader sweep at home during the 2023 season.
  • Minnesota-Crookston:  Sunday night's game with the Golden Eagles will be the second all-time meeting with the Jens having the lone win in the series during the 2021 season where UCM won by a final score of 5-2 in the third game of the Washburn Invitational (Feb. 27).
  • Minnesota State: Heading into Monday's contest against the Mavericks will be the 26th all-time meeting with Central Missouri holding a 13-12 advantage with the latest matchup resulting in a 5-0 MSU win a season ago.  
  • Wayne State (Neb.): The Jens lead the all-time series by a margin of 12-6 following a 7-5 UCM (Feb. 24) win during the opening day of last season's Washburn Invitational.
  
 
   UCM DURING the ANDERSON ERA
  • Susan Anderson enters her 19th season as head coach of the Jennies where she is the second winningest coach in program history with a record of 530-408 (.565) becoming just the second coach in program history to eclipse 500 wins doing so in game two of a double header against Fort Hays State (April 16, 2023) on Senior Day.
  • Since her return to Warrensburg in 2006, Anderson is the fastest coach to accomplish 100 wins doing so in just three seasons while making 14 MIAA tournament, five regional tournaments and one Elite Eight appearances.
  • The 2015 Regional Coach of the Year has been named MIAA Coach of the Year three times in her career (twice named as head coach of the Jens) while coaching 18 first team All-MIAA selections, nine All-Region selections, two All-Americans and one MIAA MVP.
