  • University of Central Missouri Jennies Basketball (6-4) is scheduled to return home to the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg to host a pair of non-conference games to close out the 2025 portion of its 2025-26 schedule. UCM will host Stephens College (2-10) on Thursday, Dec. 18, at 6 p.m. before taking on William Jewell (0-8) on Saturday, Dec. 20, at 1 p.m.
  • Saturday's game against William Jewell is Hoops for the Holidays, with Santa making an appearance at the game!
  • The Jennies are coming off a 59-57 loss at the University of Missouri-St. Louis on Monday, Dec. 15, in St. Louis, Mo.
  • Through 10 games, Central Missouri is paced by Taylor Weishaar (16.1 ppg., 8.2 rpg., 2.2 apg., 1.4 bpg., .408 FG%, .310 3Pt%, .676 FT%) and Reese Schaaf (15.0 ppg., 7.2 rpg., 3.3 apg., 2.2 spg., .496 FG%, .438 3Pt%, .828 FT%).
  • Weishaar has scored in double figures in all 10 of UCM's games this season. She ranks third in the MIAA in scoring (16.1 ppg.), and fifth in rebounding (8.2 rpg.) and blocked shots (1.4 bpg.). Reese Schaaf is third in the conference in steals (2.2 spg.) and field-goal percentage (.496), seventh in assists (3.3 apg.), eighth in scoring (15 ppg.), and ninth in rebounding (7.2 rpg.).
  • As a team, Central Missouri is second in three-point field-goal percentage (.349) and assists (15.8 apg.), third in field-goal percentage (.425), rebounding (41.7 rpg.) and blocked shots (3.9 bpg.), and fifth in scoring (69.7 ppg.).
NEW FACES REESE SCHAAF AMONG JENNIES' CAREER LEADERS; WEISHAAR APPROACHING CAREER TOP-10
  • Reese Schaaf is ranked fifth in career rebounding for the Jennies with 9.4 rebounds per game in 42 career contests. In addition, she is fourth in free-throw percentage at .836 (143-of-171) and sixth in scoring average at 17.7 points per game.
  • Taylor Weishaar is just outside the UCM career top-10 in blocked shots with 80 in 42 career games. She is two blocks shy of catching former UCM women's basketball standout Dawn Thomas for 10th in career blocks. Thomas had 82 blocks from 1987-1991.
LAST TIME OUT: UMSL INCHES PAST JENNIES MONDAY IN LOW-SCORING CONTEST, 59-57
  • Reese Schaaf and Taylor Weishaar each scored 15 points, but it wasn't enough as the University of Central Missouri women's basketball team fell to the University of Missouri-St. Louis Tritons, 59-57, in a non-conference game on Monday, Dec. 15, inside the Mark Twain Center.
  • Central Missouri led the game, 54-52, with just under four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter when the Tritons (8-2) went on a 7-0 run, gaining a 59-54 advantage after two free throws by Jayden Kuper with 1:47 to go.
  • UCM was able to pull within 59-57 with 1:24 on the clock after Weishaar connected on a jumper and was fouled, making the bonus free throw, but Central Missouri missed two baskets in the final minute, sealing the win for UMSL.
  • Weishaar went 5-of-13 from the field and was 4-of-5 at the free-throw line for her 15 points, while Schaaf was 6-of-13 from the floor and 3-of-3 at the charity stripe for her 15 points. Makenzie Farmer also reached double-figure scoring with 10 points.
  • Central Missouri outrebounded UMSL, 34-31, and outscored the Tritons in the paint, 28-24, but struggled shooting the basketball, going just 21-of-53 from the field (40 percent) and 6-of-24 from three-point range (25 percent) in the game.
PRESEASON PICKS
  • The Jennies were voted fourth in both the 2025-26 MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll and MIAA Preseason Media Poll. UCM received 138 points and one first-place vote in the preseason coaches' poll and 271 points and four first-place votes in the preseason media poll.
JENNIES INK PAIR OF HIGH SCHOOL STANDOUTS
  • University of Central Missouri Jennies Basketball head coach Dave Slifer announced Tuesday, Nov. 25, the signing of two high school standouts to the program's 2026 recruiting class.
  • Regan Becker, a 6-foot-1 guard out of Blue Valley Northwest High School, and McKinli Mays, a 5-foot-7 guard out of El Dorado Springs High School, have signed to continue their education and compete at the University of Central Missouri beginning in the fall of 2026.
FAMILY CONNECTION
  • The Jennies have two siblings on the 2025-26 roster in El Dorado Springs natives senior Reese Schaaf and freshman Neely Schaaf.
SLIFER AMONG THE BEST
  • Jennies Basketball 22nd season head coach Dave Slifer is ranked fifth in career victories in all of NCAA (Division I, II, III) with his 828 career wins in 36 years. In Division II, Slifer is second in career victories, trailing only Tom Shirley of Jefferson, who posted 905 victories in 43 years.
