  • University of Central Missouri Jennies Basketball (5-3, 1-1 MIAA) is scheduled to travel to Topeka, Kan., for a MIAA contest against the Washburn Ichabods (6-2, 2-0 MIAA) on Saturday, Dec. 13, at 1 p.m. inside Lee Arena before trekking to St. Louis, Mo., for a non-conference contest against the UMSL Tritons (7-1, 4-0 GLVC) at 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 15, inside the Mark Twain Building.
  • UCM is coming off a 72-69 victory over the Nebraska Kearney Lopers on Saturday, Dec. 6, in Warrensburg.

  • Weishaar has scored in double figures in all eight of UCM's games this season. She ranks seventh in the MIAA in scoring (15.3 ppg.), third in rebounding (8.5 rpg.), and fourth in blocked shots (1.5 bpg.). Reese Schaaf is ranked in the top 10 in the conference in field-goal percentage at .478 (43-of-90) and assists (3.0 apg.) through eight contests.
  • As a team, Central Missouri is fourth in the MIAA in scoring (71.6 ppg.), third in field-goal percentage (.424), first in three-point field-goal percentage (.357), and second in rebounding (43.3 rpg.), assists (16.3 apg.) and blocks (4.4 bpg.) through eight games.
NEW FACES REESE SCHAAF AMONG JENNIES' CAREER LEADERS; WEISHAAR APPROACHING CAREER TOP-10
  • Reese Schaaf is ranked third in career rebounding for the Jennies with 9.4 rebounds per game in 40 career contests. In addition, she is fourth in free-throw percentage at .831 (133-of-160) and sixth in scoring average at 17.6 points per game.
  • Taylor Weishaar is just outside the UCM career top-10 in blocked shots with 78 in 40 career games. She is three blocks shy of catching former UCM women's basketball standout Dawn Thomas for 10th in career blocks. Thomas had 82 blocks from 1987-1991.
LAST TIME OUT: JENNIES TURN BACK NEBRASKA KEARNEY SATURDAY, 72-69
  • Reese Schaaf scored 23 points, and Taylor Weishaar had a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds as the University of Central Missouri women's basketball team posted a 72-69 victory over the Nebraska Kearney Lopers on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 6, inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center.
  • Nebraska Kearney led, 69-67, with 1:10 remaining in the fourth quarter before Schaaf drilled a three-pointer with 54 seconds remaining, giving the Jennies the 70-69 advantage.
  • After Weishaar and Jayla Griffith each hit one of two free-throw attempts, extending the Central Missouri lead to 72-69, the Lopers had one more chance to tie the game, but Jillian Aschoff's three-pointer was off the mark, sealing the victory for UCM.
  • Schaaf went 8-of-13 from the field, 3-of-4 from three-point range, and was 4-of-4 at the free-throw line for her team-high 23 points. She added seven rebounds and dished out four assists.
  • Weishaar compiled her second double-double of 2025-26 with her 16 points and 11 boards, while Makenzie Farmer dished out a career-best six assists in the victory.
  • For the game, Central Missouri shot 48 percent from the field (24-of-50), 39 percent from three-point range (7-of-18), and went 17 out of 24 at the free-throw line for 71 percent. The Jennies outrebounded the Lopers, 35-25.
PRESEASON PICKS
  • The Jennies were voted fourth in both the 2025-26 MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll and MIAA Preseason Media Poll. UCM received 138 points and one first-place vote in the preseason coaches' poll and 271 points and four first-place votes in the preseason media poll.
JENNIES INK PAIR OF HIGH SCHOOL STANDOUTS
  • University of Central Missouri Jennies Basketball head coach Dave Slifer announced Tuesday, Nov. 25, the signing of two high school standouts to the program's 2026 recruiting class.
  • Regan Becker, a 6-foot-1 guard out of Blue Valley Northwest High School, and McKinli Mays, a 5-foot-7 guard out of El Dorado Springs High School, have signed to continue their education and compete at the University of Central Missouri beginning in the fall of 2026.
FAMILY CONNECTION
  • The Jennies have two siblings on the 2025-26 roster in El Dorado Springs natives senior Reese Schaaf and freshman Neely Schaaf.
SLIFER AMONG THE BEST
  • Jennies Basketball 22nd season head coach Dave Slifer is ranked fifth in career victories in all of NCAA (Division I, II, III) with his 827 career wins in 36 years. In Division II, Slifer is second in career victories, trailing only Tom Shirley of Jefferson, who posted 905 victories in 43 years.
