WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The Central Missouri Mules (7-2, 0-0 MIAA) defeated the Tabor College Bluejays (2-6, 0-3 KCAC) by a final score of 89-62, Sunday, Nov. 30, inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg.
Central Missouri led by 10 at the break as forward
Jevon Hill led the way with 12 points, on 4-of-8 shooting from the field, adding three boards for good measure as the Mules never relinquished en route to their first five-game winning streak since the 2017-18 season.
Hill, a native of Wichita, Kan., ended the game with 19 points and five boards, as three Mules finished with double-figure scoring performances.
Guard
Lazerek Houston had a game-high 22 points, season-best six boards, six assists, and three steals, while freshman
Trinell Parker had 12 points and four rebounds in the winning effort.
UCM out-rebounded the Bluejays by a margin of 46-32 on the afternoon, as redshirt sophomore
AJ Lux grabbed a team-high six rebounds, adding four points, two assists, and two steals, plus guard
Jake Fritz (five points), junior
Noah Martin (four points), and forward
Kyree Polk (two points) collected five boards each.
The Mules outscored Tabor in numerous categories, including points in the paint (42-32), bench points (29-16), and points off turnovers (18-14), as freshman
Carter Kaifes (two rebounds and two assists) and guard
Deshawne Crim had five points each.
A trio of Mules ended the contest with three points on the afternoon, including sophomore
Deadric Fikes (two boards and two steals), guard
Naz Brown (four assists), and junior
Judah Sault (two rebounds).
The Mules begin MIAA play Thursday, Dec. 4, hosting the (Receiving Votes) Fort Hays State Tigers (5-1, 0-0 MIAA) at 7:30 p.m., inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg.
