WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The (Receiving Vote) Central Missouri Mules (8-2, 1-0 MIAA) defeated the (Receiving Votes) Fort Hays State Tigers (5-2, 0-1 MIAA) by a final score of 64-50, Thursday, Dec. 4, during Star Wars Night, inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg.
After trailing by one after 20 minutes of play, Central Missouri opened a 14-0 run with a made free-throw from junior
Noah Martin (three rebounds) and never relinquished en route to their eighth win of the season and sixth in a row.
Four Mules finished the game scoring in double figures, led by 16 points and five boards from junior
Jevon Hill, while reigning MIAA Freshman of the Year
Kyran Tilley had 13 points, four rebounds, and three assists on the night.
The Mules shot 51 percent from the floor in the final half of play, including 54 percent from beyond the arc, highlighted by a season-high 11 points on 3-of-5 from long range from
Carter Kaifes, plus freshman
Lazerek Houston posted 11 points, a season-best six boards, and three assists for good measure.
Central Missouri outscored the Tigers in four offensive categories, including points off turnovers (15-8), bench points (16-12), second chance (11-10), and fast break (6-2), as forward
Trinell Parker had eight points and five boards in the winning effort.
