  • University of Central Missouri Jennies Basketball (3-2) is scheduled to host the Evangel Valor (5-1) in a non-conference home game on Saturday, Nov. 29, at 1 p.m. inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center in Warrensburg.
  • UCM is coming off a 2-0 trip to Florida. The Jennies defeated West Florida in the WBCA Showcase on Nov. 21, 85-62, in Orlando, before rolling to an 87-33 victory at Saint Leo on Nov. 24 in Saint Leo, Fla.
  • UCM Athletics is offering reduced price general admission, reserved, and premium reserved tickets for Saturday's Jennies game as part of Black Friday! Individuals can purchase the reduced-price tickets beginning on Black Friday, on Friday, Nov. 28, at UCMAthletics.com/tickets, as well as at the UCM Athletics Ticket Office on Saturday.   • Through five games, Central Missouri is paced by Reese Schaaf (14.8 ppg., 5.2 rpg., 2.4 apg., 2.4 spg., .508 FG%, .467 3Pt%, .636 FT%), Taylor Weishaar (14.2 ppg., 8.0 rpg., 2.4 apg., 1.4 bpg., .377 FG%, .364 3Pt%, .654 FT%) and Cierra Smith (10.6 ppg., 4.2 rpg., 1.6 apg., 1.6 spg., .404 FG%, .375 3Pt%, .571 FT%). 
  • Weishaar and Reese Schaaf have each scored in double figures in all five of UCM's games this season.
  • Coming into 2025-26, the Jennies welcome back four starters, including 2024-25 WBCA Honorable Mention All-American and MIAA Co-Newcomer of the Year Reese Schaaf (17 ppg., 5 rpg., 1.7 apg., .541 FG%, .500 3Pt%, .750 FT%), and All-MIAA selection Taylor Weishaar (12.7 ppg., 6.3 rpg., 2.3 apg., 1.3 bpg., .289 FG%, .263 3Pt%, .786 FT%).
  • Schaaf led the team and the MIAA in scoring and rebounding last season and tallied a team and conference-best 18 double-doubles. In addition, she scored in double figures in 31 of 32 games.
  • Weishaar paced the Jennies and the MIAA in blocks with 2.1 blocks per game in 2024-25.
  • Central Missouri also welcomes back Cierra Smith (7.4 ppg., 3 rpg., 1.3 apg., 1.2 spg.), Rylee Vierthaler (3.3 ppg., 1.8 rpg.), and Jolie Bonderer (2.3 ppg., 1.6 rpg.).
NEW FACES LAST TIME OUT: JENNIES MAUL SAINT LEO, 87-33
  • Taylor Weishaar scored 18 points and pulled down 14 rebounds for her first double-double of the season, leading the University of Central Missouri women's basketball team to an 87-33 victory over the Saint Leo Lions on Monday afternoon, Nov. 24, at the Marion Bowman Activities Center.
  • Central Missouri used a 16-0 run at the start of the first quarter to jump out to an 18-4 advantage and never looked back on its way to the 54-point margin of victory. The 54-point triumph was the largest since a 108-45 victory over Johnson & Wales in 2016.
  • UCM outscored Saint Leo (1-3) in the third and fourth quarters, 39-13, including 16-3 in the third quarter and 23-10 in the fourth.
  • Weishaar went 7-of-12 from the floor, 1-of-1 from three-point range, and converted three free throws for her 18 points while snagging her 14 boards for the double-double.
  • Cierra Smith added 14 points, Rylee Vierthaler had a career-high 12 points, and Reese Schaaf scored 11 points, rounding out the UCM players in double figures.
  • For the game, the Jennies shot 46 percent from the field (34-of-74) and outrebounded the Lions, 66-25. Central Missouri also outscored Saint Leo in the paint, 40-20, and on second chance points, 22-0.
PRESEASON PICKS
  • The Jennies were voted fourth in both the 2025-26 MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll and MIAA Preseason Media Poll. UCM received 138 points and one first-place vote in the preseason coaches' poll and 271 points and four first-place votes in the preseason media poll.
JENNIES INK PAIR OF HIGH SCHOOL STANDOUTS
  • University of Central Missouri Jennies Basketball head coach Dave Slifer announced Tuesday, Nov. 25, the signing of two high school standouts to the program's 2026 recruiting class.
  • Regan Becker, a 6-foot-1 guard out of Blue Valley Northwest High School, and McKinli Mays, a 5-foot-7 guard out of El Dorado Springs High School, have signed to continue their education and compete at the University of Central Missouri beginning in the fall of 2026.
FAMILY CONNECTION
  • The Jennies have two siblings on the 2025-26 roster in El Dorado Springs natives senior Reese Schaaf and freshman Neely Schaaf.
SLIFER AMONG THE BEST
  • Jennies Basketball 22nd season head coach Dave Slifer is ranked fifth in career victories in all of NCAA (Division I, II, III) with his 825 career wins in 36 years. In Division II, Slifer is second in career victories, trailing only Tom Shirley of Jefferson, who posted 905 victories in 43 years.
