Mules Football has 11 Named All-MIAA; Omolo Garners Co-Freshman of the Year Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The University of Central Missouri Mules Football team had 11 student-athletes garner All-MIAA accolades for their performances on the football field during the 2025 regular season, it was announced on Tuesday, Nov. 18, by the conference office. In addition, quarterback Donovyn Omolo was voted the conference's Co-Freshman of the Year.

Wide receiver Hogan Wasson earned First Team All-MIAA honors, offensive lineman Shawn Martinez and kicker Will Peacock were Second Team All-MIAA selections, Omolo, offensive lineman Luke Karns, defensive lineman Michael Harris, linebacker Garrett Hormann, and defensive back Malachi Howard received Third Team All-MIAA recognition, and tight end Bo Reeves, linebacker Drew Kaufman, and defensive back Talon Sanders were Honorable Mention All-MIAA recipients.

A redshirt freshman from Conway, Ark., Omolo led the Mules and the MIAA in passing in 2025, going 260-of-414 for 2,849 passing yards with 17 passing touchdowns and 284.9 passing yards per game. In addition, he was Central Missouri's leading rusher, tallying 449 rushing yards on 106 carries with seven touchdowns on the ground and 44.9 rushing yards per game. Omolo is the first Freshman of the Year for Mules Football since 2017 (running back Devante Turner).

Wasson, a redshirt sophomore from Colleyville, Texas, paced the MIAA in receiving with an NCAA Division II-best100.9 receiving yards per game. He tallied 1,009 receiving yards on 85 catches with six touchdowns in 10 contests in 2025. This is Wasson's second-career All-MIAA accolade, as he was an honorable mention selection in 2024.

Martinez, a senior from San Diego, Calif., helped the UCM offense lead the MIAA in total offense (464.3 yards per game) and passing offense (321.5 passing yards per game), and rank second in scoring with 32.2 points per game in 2025. He played and started on the offensive line in all 11 games this season.

A redshirt sophomore out of Greenwood, Mo., Peacock garnered second-team recognition after ranking second in the conference in field goals with 12 this season. He went a perfect 43-of-43 on PAT attempts in 2025.

Karns, a redshirt senior from New Hampton, Mo., helped the UCM offense lead the MIAA in total offense (464.3 yards per game) and passing offense (321.5 passing yards per game), and rank second in scoring with 32.2 points per game this season. He played and started in all 11 contests for UCM in 2025.

Harris, a redshirt senior from Overland Park, Kan., posted 45 tackles, including 15 solo and 30 assisted tackles, to go along with a team-best 8.0 tackles-for-loss for 33 yards and a team-high five sacks for 28 yards in 11 games for the UCM defense.

A redshirt senior from Mount Vernon, Iowa, Hormann led Central Missouri with 74 tackles, including 33 solo and 41 assisted tackles, and added 4.0 tackles-for-loss for nine yards, two sacks for three yards, three pass breakups, and a fumble recovery and forced fumble in 10 games.

Howard, a redshirt sophomore from Lee's Summit, Mo., led the Mules and tied for second in the MIAA with 12 pass breakups in 11 contests. In addition, he posted 30 tackles, two tackles for loss for four yards, and an interception in 2025.

Reeves, a redshirt senior from Rossville, Kan., saw action in eight games, posting 36 receiving yards on seven catches with two touchdowns.

A redshirt junior from Overland Park, Kan., Kaufman ranked second on the team with 71 tackles, including 37 solo and 34 assisted tackles, to go along with 7.5 tackles-for-loss for 25 yards, four pass breakups, and a forced fumble.

Sanders, a senior out of Roswell, N.M., played in nine games in 2025, tallying 47 tackles, two tackles-for-loss for five yards, and eight pass breakups.
