SCENE SETTER
- University of Central Missouri Mules Football (4-5, 4-3 MIAA) is set to host the No. 5-ranked Pittsburg State Gorillas (7-2, 6-1 MIAA) on Saturday, Nov. 8, at 1 p.m. at Walton Stadium/Kennedy Field for its final home game of the 2025 season.
- Saturday's contest will also be Senior Day, with Mules Football honoring its Senior Class in a pregame ceremony. In addition, UCM Athletics is offering discounted general admission tickets for donating specific items to the Johnson County (Mo.) Food Center. - UCM is coming off a 28-24 victory over the Fort Hays State Tigers Saturday, Nov. 1, at Lewis Field Stadium in Hays, Kan. The win was the first in Hays for the Mules since 2012.
- Through nine games, Central Missouri leads the MIAA in total offense (455.8 yards per game) and passing offense (307.1 passing yards per game) and ranks second in scoring (31.3 points per game). UCM's 307.1 passing yards per game is sixth in NCAA-II while its 455.8 yards per game ranks seventh in Division II for total offense.
- Wide receiver Hogan Wasson leads NCAA-II in receiving yards per game at 103.6 and is second in receptions per game at 8.13, while quarterback Donovyn Omolo is fifth in completions per game at 24.25 and seventh in total offense with 304.5 yards per game.
- In the latest MIAA statistics, Wasson is first in receiving (103.6 yards per game) while Omolo is second in passing (261.1 passing yards per game) and total offense (304.5 yards per game). Will Peacock is second in field goals in the MIAA with 11 made. Defensively, Garrett Hormann is fifth in tackles with nine per game, Malachi Howard is third in passes defended (12 total, 11 breakups, 1 INT), Trey Patrick is tied for third in interceptions (3), and Trenton Bell is tied for second in fumble recoveries (2).
- With Central Missouri's 9-3 record in 2024 and 11-2 mark in 2023, the Mules posted at least 20 wins in two consecutive seasons for just the second time in program history.
- 2025 is the 129th season in the history of Mules Football. UCM has played football every year since 1895, except for 1918 due to World War I.
- Central Missouri was voted fourth in both the 2025 MIAA Preseason Coaches and Media Polls released in late July by the conference office.

- Mules Football welcomes 58 new student-athletes to their roster in 2025, including 36 high school freshmen and 22 transfers.
- In addition, UCM has seven new coaches for the 2025 season. New coaches include: Rich Wright (Defensive Coordinator/Defensive Line), Neil Novak (Special Teams Coordinator/Defensive Backs), Vince Mayle (Wide Receivers), Jamal Morrow (Running Backs/Offensive Player Personnel), Dylan Graham (Tight Ends/Offensive Player Personnel), JaQuan Jenkins (Assistant Defensive Secondary) and Billy Musgrave (Assistant Defensive Line).
SERIES HISTORY
- Saturday's showdown in Warrensburg against the Gorillas will mark the 62nd meeting in the all-time series dating back to 1916. Pittsburg State leads the series, 46-13-2. Last season, Central Missouri defeated then-No. 1-ranked Pittsburg State in Pittsburg, Kan., 37-13.

- Hogan Wasson caught a touchdown pass from Donovyn Omolo with under a minute to go in the fourth quarter to lift the University of Central Missouri Mules Football Team to a thrilling 28-24 comeback victory over the Fort Hays State Tigers on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 1, at Lewis Field Stadium.
- The victory marked the first win in Hays, Kan., for Central Missouri since a 14-12 triumph in 2012.
- Omolo went 24-for-32 for 268 yards and had three passing touchdowns, while Wasson posted 134 receiving yards on 11 catches with two TDs, and Jayden Lang ran for 59 yards on eight carries, including a 13-yard rushing touchdown, leading the Mules offensively.
- Talon Sanders had 10 tackles, and Trey Patrick and Joe Morrison recorded interceptions, pacing UCM defensively.
- For the game, Central Missouri outgained Fort Hays State, 384-366, including a 286-158 advantage in passing yards. The Tigers bested the Mules in rushing, 208-98, but UCM tallied 22 first downs and posted a 31:44 to 28:16 edge in time of possession.
- FHSU quarterback Caleb Heaver posted 158 passing yards and 144 rushing yards with two touchdowns, leading the Tigers.
GOING THE DISTANCE
- Central Missouri's 99-yard, game-winning drive at Fort Hays State Nov. 1 marked the first 99-yard drive for UCM since 2014 against Southeast Oklahoma State.

- The Mules are 266-191-13 overall, and 2025 is their 93rd season playing home games at Walton Stadium/Kennedy Field.

- In the 129 seasons of UCM Football, the Mules have compiled a 608-543-51 record. Central Missouri has fielded a football team every year since 1895, except for 1918, when World War I occurred.
- The Mules have won 10 or more games six times in the history of the program and have posted 15 seasons of eight or more wins.
- UCM tied the program record for wins in a season with 11 in 2023. The Mules also won 11 games in 2019 and 2010.
- UCM has won or shared 14 MIAA championships in school history with the last coming in 2023.
- The Mules have qualified for the postseason 13 times in their history, including five trips to the NCAA-II Playoffs, the last coming in 2023.

- Former Mules' Football All-Americans Zach Zebrowski (QB) and Arkell Smith (WR) are currently playing for the Edmonton Elks in the Canadian Football League (CFL).
- Former Central Missouri defensive lineman David Olajiga (2021-2023) is currently on the New England Patriots' practice squad roster.
- Former Mules' All-American tight end Zach Davidson (2016-2020) was selected in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings.
- He marked the 12th Mules football player to be drafted in program history and the first since former UCM standout tight end Delanie Walker in 2006.
