No. 10 Jennies Soccer Sprints Past Fort Hays State Friday, 4-0

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Mikayla Ernst, Patsy O'Brien, Izzy Joyce and Coryn Jespersen scored goals as the No. 10-ranked University of Central Missouri Jennies Soccer team sprinted past the Fort Hays State Tigers, 5-0, during Soctober presented by Central Bank at the South Recreation Complex Friday, Oct. 3.

The Jennies (5-2-2, 2-0-1 MIAA) are slated to host the Nebraska Kearney Lopers (2-4-2, 0-1-2 MIAA) Sunday, Oct. 5, at 1 p.m. in Warrensburg.

Ernst wasted no time upping her team and MIAA-best goal total to 10 on the season when she blasted a pass from O'Brien into the back of the net just three minutes into the match for the 1-0 lead.

The match remained 1-0 until four minutes into the second half when UCM scored back-to-back goals in the 49th minute. O'Brien tallied her second goal of the season via assists from Ernst and Joyce prior to Joyce scoring her third goal of 2025 off of Ernst's second assist of the match, increasing the Central Missouri lead to 3-0.

Jespersen made it 4-0, UCM, in the 54th minute when she slotted home a pass from Ernst. It was her third goal of the season.

Ernst ended the match with a career-high three assists to go along with her goal for five points on the night.

For the match, the Jennies outshot the Tigers (2-5-1, 0-2-1 MIAA), 22-5, including a 14-1 advantage in shots on goal. UCM also bested FHSU in corner kicks, 5-2.

Central Missouri goalkeeper Kristen Wright (5-2-2) earned the win between the posts after allowing zero goals in just under 66 minutes. She teamed up with fellow goalkeepers Hannah McFarlane and Hayleigh Martin for the second combined shutout of 2025 for the Jennies.
