  • No. 10-ranked University of Central Missouri Jennies Soccer (4-2-2, 1-0-1 MIAA) is scheduled to host Fort Hays State (2-4-1, 0-1-1 MIAA) on Friday, Oct. 3, at 6 p.m. and Nebraska Kearney (2-3-2, 0-0-2 MIAA) on Sunday, Oct. 5, at 1 p.m. in a pair of MIAA matches at the South Recreation Complex in Warrensburg.
  • Friday's contest against the Tigers will be Soctober, Presented by Central Bank. Food trucks and a bounce house will be in the South Recreation Complex's parking lot. In addition, Warrensburg Parks and Recreation is sponsoring tickets so that youth soccer players get in FREE, and parents receive $2 admission! The first 300 fans will also receive a free Culver's Concrete coupon. There will also be a kids vs. Jennies match after the game, with youth soccer players having the opportunity to take the field with the Jennies Soccer team!
  • Central Missouri went 1-0-1 in its first two MIAA matches of the season last week. UCM played to a 1-1 draw at Northeastern State Sept. 26 in Tahlequah, Okla., before rolling to a 5-0, shutout win at Rogers State in Claremore, Okla., Sept. 28. 
  • Through eight matches, the Jennies are paced by forwards Mikayla Ernst (9 G, 2 A, 20 Pts, 34 Sh, 18 SOG, .529 SOG%, 2 GWG, 2-3 PK), Izzy Joyce (2 G, 3 A, 7 Pts, 11 Sh, 8 SOG, .727 SOG%) and Maryn Clement (2 G, 2 A, 6 Pts, 4 Sh, 4 SOG, 1.000 SOG%), and midfielders Coryn Jespersen (2 G, 1 A, 5 Pts, 6 Sh, 4 SOG, .667 SOG%, 1 GWG) and Ryann Clark (2 G, 4 Pts, 5 Sh, 3 SOG, .600 SOG%, 1 GWG, 1-1 PK).
  • Ernst currently leads the MIAA and ranks second in NCAA Division II in goals scored (9). She is also first in the conference and third nationally in points (20). 
  • In goal for UCM, goalkeeper Kristen Wright is 4-2-2 with a team-best three shutouts. She has allowed just six goals while making 28 saves for a 0.76 goals-against average (GAA) in 706:44 minutes. 
  • As a team, UCM is averaging 2.63 goals per game and 13.4 shots per game while holding its opponents to 0.75 goals per game and 10.6 shots per game. The Jennies have a 0.607 shots on goal percentage and are holding adversaries to a 0.412 shots on goal percentage. Central Missouri has taken 40 corner kicks through eight matches. 
Ernst Joins the UCM Record Book
  • Mikayla Ernst became just the third player in program history to score a Central Missouri single-match record four goals in UCM's 7-2 win over Harding Sept. 21. Ernst joins former Jennies Jada Scott (vs. Missouri Western in 2016) and Sarah Bourn (vs. Southwest Baptist in 1995) at the top of the single-match goals scored record list with her four goals.

  • Jennies Soccer was voted No. 1 in the MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll for the 2025 season.
  • UCM received 132 points and four first-place votes in the poll.
  • Central Missouri is ranked No. 10 in the most recent United Soccer Coaches Division II Top 25 Poll released Tuesday, Sept. 30.

  • Dating back to the 2016 season, the Jennies are 91-7-2 at the South Recreation Complex. During that span, UCM has surrendered just 68 goals.
  • All-time at the South Recreation Complex, UCM is 166-17-9 under head coach Lewis Theobald and 230-38-10 in overall program history. The Jennies have compiled undefeated home records five times.

New Faces for 2025 Series History
  • Fort Hays State: UCM and Fort Hays State will meet for the 20th time in the all-time series Friday evening in Warrensburg. UCM leads the series, 16-2-1. Last season, Central Missouri defeated Fort Hays State in Hays, Kan., 2-0.
  • Nebraska Kearney: The Jennies and Lopers will meet for the 14th time in the all-time series Sunday at the South Recreation Complex. Central Missouri leads the series, 12-0-1. Last season, the Jennies rolled to a 7-1 victory over the Lopers in Kearney, Neb. 
Head Coach Lewis Theobald
Lewis Theobald, now in his 18th year, has transformed the Jennies Soccer program into one of the premier programs not only in the MIAA but also in NCAA Division II.

The 11-time MIAA and five-time region Coach of the Year has an impressive 312-53-29 record. He recorded more wins in his first three seasons than any other coach in school history and is the all-time winningest coach in both Jennies soccer and MIAA women's soccer history. He brought home the program's first-ever National Championship in the 2017 season.

Theobald enters the 2025 season as the winningest active coach in Division II women's soccer with an .833 winning percentage, among coaches with at least five years on the sidelines. He is also the all-time D-II leader among coaches with at least 10 years and is fifth all-time in all NCAA Divisions. 

During his tenure, Theobald has coached 22 All-Americans in Ashleigh Martin, Andree Orcutt, Lindsay Edmonds, Julia Kristensen, Kassie Newsom, Caroline Cole, Ana Dilkes, Emily Eldridge, Baylie Edwards, Randi Fernsler, Allysa Gann, Kayla Hamner, Julie Ireland, Becky Lackey, Cindy Lackey, Abby Rhodes, Alyssa Rhodes, Jada Scott, Carly Stanley, Jenna Stones, Makayla Toth and Megan Woolley and has led 60 players to All-Region status. He also coached Dilkes, a goalkeeper, to a National Player of the Year honor during the 2017 season.

He has coached 142 All-Conference players, including Most Valuable Players Melanie Hall, Kayla Shain and two-time Player of the Year Alyssa Rhodes; Offensive Players of the Years Carly Stanley, Julie Ireland, Jada Scott, Kassie Newsom and Julia Kristensen; Freshmen of the Year Alyssa Rhodes, Stanley, Hannah Pyle, Alexis Robbers, Nicki Wisnasky, Caroline Cole, Julia Kristensen and Izzy Joyce; Defenders of the Year, Emily Eldridge, Allysa Gann, Cindy Lackey and Abby Rhodes; two-time Goalkeeper of the Year Lindsey Johnson and four-time Goalkeeper of the Year Ana Dilkes.

A 1999 graduate of the University of Kansas, Theobald received his bachelor's degree in education with a concentration in physical education.

The Jennies host Northwest Missouri State on Friday, Oct. 12, at 6 p.m. and Missouri Western on Sunday, Oct. 14, at 1 p.m. at the South Recreation Complex.
