DENVER, Colo. – No. 17 Central Missouri Jennies (2-3, 0-0 MIAA) fell in a pair of matches to Dallas Baptist by a final score of 3-2 (24-26, 25-22, 25-21, 12-25, 11-15) and No. 3 MSU-Denver 3-1 (26-24, 22-25, 18-25, 18-25) on Friday, Sept. 13, from Auraia Event Center.
The Jens return to the court on Saturday, Sept. 14, as they take on the Wheeling Cardinals in game one of two in the final day of the Colorado Premier Challenge beginning at 12:30 p.m. (CST) from Regis Field House.
Dallas Baptist 3, No. 17 Central Missouri 2 (24-26, 25-22, 25-21, 12-25, 11-15)
After splitting the first four sets of the match, Dallas Baptist jumped out to a 7-4 lead in the fifth and never relinquished en route to their fourth win of the season.
Sophomores
Elinor Engel (six blocks overall) and
Maya Fergerson (two blocks overall) contributed a team-high 13 kills and three digs while middle blocker / right side
Grace Wagers had 11 kills and five blocks pacing UCM offensively.
Redshirt junior Grace Winklemann led the Jens defensively with a match-high 17 digs, plus Colorado natives
Tiffany Little (four kills and two blocks overall) and
Brenna Kelly collected six digs for good measure. Setter
Maddie Wojdyla had 48 assists, six digs, and two blocks while junior
Rachel Ziesman ended the match with nine kills and five blocks.

The Roadrunners jumped out to an 8-1 advantage in the opening set of the match, UCM head coach
Caitlin Peterson called timeout. The Jens responded by tying the set at 24 with a
Tiffany Little (career-high 10 digs and four kills overall) service ace.
Taking their first lead of the set thanks to a MSU attack error, Central Missouri completed the comeback with a sophomore
Maya Fergerson (career-high 15 kills overall) kill from
Maddie Wojdyla (match-high 48 assists, eight digs, and five kills overall). The Jens outhit MSU-Denver by a margin of .303 to .171 in the set thanks to middle blocker
Elinor Engel's (career and match-high 17 kills overall) set-high six kills while redshirt junior
Grace Winkelmann (match-high 19 digs overall) had a set-best six digs.
The Roadrunners answered by winning the next three sets picking up their sixth victory on the year. Junior
Rachel Ziesman had nine kills on 21 swings for a .381 hitting percentage while middle blocker / right side
Grace Wagers added six kills and sophomore
Emma Wheeler collected a career-high 14 digs.
