EMPORIA, Kan. – Kayla Goodwin captured All-American honors in the heptathlon and triple jump,
Evans Yamoah secured All-American accolades in the high jump, and
Parker Wormek set a new school record in the men's 110m hurdles prelims highlighting day two of action for UCM track & field at the NCAA-II Outdoor Championships Friday, May 24, at Francis G. Welch Stadium on the Emporia State University campus.
Goodwin earned her 12th and 13th career All-American accolades after placing fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 12.63m (41-5.25) and eighth in the heptathlon with 5,354 points. It was Goodwin's sixth-career All-American finish in the triple jump and her third in the heptathlon.
Yamoah earned his third-career All-American accolade in the men's high jump after clearing a height of 2.13m (6-11.75) on his third attempt for fifth place.
Wormek ran a school record time of 13.57 to post the top qualifying time in the men's 110m hurdles prelims. He'll compete in the final on Saturday.
Notables:
- Addison Snowball narrowly missed earning All-America honors in the men's discus, placing ninth with a mark of 53.02m (173-11). The top eight finishers receive All-American recognition.
- Trey Miller placed 10th in the decathlon with 6,913 points.
- Competing in her first NCAA-II Outdoor Championships, Maggie Klover posted a mark of 12.05m (39-6.50) to place 18th.
- Brooklynn Holtman fell short of qualifying for the women's 200m dash final, finishing 14th in the prelims with a time of 23.68.
The Mules' 4x100m relay and Wormek in the 110m hurdles final will wrap up the NCAA-II Outdoor Championships for UCM track & field Saturday, May 25, in Emporia.
