INDIANAPOLIS -- University of Central Missouri Mules baseball checks in at number one in the latest NCAA-II Central Regional rankings released Wednesday, May 1, by the NCAA.
The Central Region is comprised of teams from the MIAA, Great American Conference (GAC) and Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC).
The Mules occupy the top spot while MIAA foe Missouri Southern is number two. Arkansas Tech out of the GAC is three, rounding out the top-three teams. Augustana (S.D.) from the NSIC is fourth, followed by MIAA member Central Oklahoma in fifth, GAC member Arkansas-Monticello in sixth, GAC member Harding in seventh and Pittsburg State out of the MIAA in eighth, wrappping up the top-eight teams in the rankings.
The top eight teams in the final regional rankings unveiled during the NCAA-II Baseball Championship Selection Show Sunday, May 12, on NCAA.com will receive bids to the 2024 NCAA-II Central Region tournament. The top two seeds in the Central Region will each host four teams in a double-elimination tournament May 16-19, with each winner moving on to a best-of-three Super Regional May 24-25 at the highest remaining seed. The winner of the Super Regional advances to the 2024 NCAA-II College World Series June 1-8 at the USA Baseball Training Complex in Cary, N.C.
Central Missouri is scheduled to host Fort Hays State in a best-of-three MIAA Baseball Tournament First Round Series May 3-5 at Crane Stadium/Tompkins Field in Warrensburg.
