PITTSBURG, Kan. – Several notable performances and school records from
Brooklynn Holtman and the Mules' 4x100m relay highlighted UCM track & field action at the 16th Annual David Suenram Gorilla Classic Saturday, April 6, at Carnie Smith Stadium on the Pittsburg State University campus.
Relays
Jumps
- Maggie Klover won the women's triple jump with a mark of 11.92m (39-1.25).
- Weston Edwards placed third in the men's pole vault open division with a mark of 4.35m (14-3.25).Â
Distance
- Katie Bean placed second in the women's 800m run with a time of 2:16.14.
- Brian Mitei was fourth in the men's 800m run with a time of 1:56.67.
- The Mules went 4-5 in the men's 3,000m steeplechase with Clay Pilliard placing fourth with a personal-best time of 9:57.52 and Colton Palmer finishing fifth with a time of 10:04.79.
Throws
- Addison Snowball was fourth in the men's hammer with a personal-best mark of 56.99m (187-0). Later in the evening, Snowball posted a third-place finish in the men's discus with a provisional mark of 55.47m (182-0).
- Aiden Smith placed fifth in the men's javelin with a mark of 57.66m (189-2).
Sprints/Hurdles
- Brooklynn Holtman posted a school record, provisional and personal-best time of 23.47 to win the women's 200m dash. Her time ranks fifth-fastest in NCAA-II this season. In the women's 100m dash prelims, Holtman ran a personal-best, provisional, and school record time of 11.69 to finish fifth.
- Antonio Lay posted a provisional time of 10.17 to win the men's 100m dash prelim.
The Mules & Jennies return to action Friday, April 12, hosting the annual Outdoor Mule Relays in Warrensburg.
