PITTSBURG, Kan. – Jentry Acklin (110m hurdles) and
Brady Maher (3,000m steeplechase) each recorded first-place, personal-best performances highlighting UCM track & field at the Pittsburg State Tune Up meet Saturday, April 20, at Carnie Smith Stadium.
Throws
- Addison Snowball placed third in the men's hammer throw with a NCAA-II provisional mark of 57.33m (188-1).
- Laken Manns finished fourth in the women's discus with a personal-best mark of 44.83m (147-1).
- Michael Waldron was fifth in the men's javelin with a mark of 57.89m (189-11).
Distance/Steeplechase
- Brady Maher won the men's 3,000m steeplechase with a personal-best time of 9:36.05. Clay Pilliard was third with a personal-best time of 9:50.47 and Sam Mathis was fourth with a personal-best 9:59.91.
Sprints/Hurdles
- Jentry Acklin won the men's 110 hurdles with a personal-best time of 14.64. He took second in the 400m hurdles with a personal-best time of 59.20. Â
- Chloee Belgum finished fifth in the women's 800m run with a time of 2:22.83.
- Jazmin Corbin and Sophia Derks went 3-4 in the women's 400m hurdles. Corbin was third with a personal-best 1:09.78 while Derks was fourth with a time of 1:13.37.
Jumps
- The Mules finished 3-4-5 in the high jump. Zachary Proctor was third with a mark of 1.94m (6-4.5) on his first attempt, Justin Hamrick was fourth with a mark of 1.94m (6-4.5) on his third attempt, and Carter Bell was fifth with a mark of 1.89m (6-2.5).
- Maggie Klover placed fourth in the women's long jump with a mark of 5.58m (18-3.75). Later in the day, she placed third in the women's triple jump with a mark of 11.87m (38-11.25)
- Charlie Garino posted a top-five finish in the men's pole vault, placing fifth with a mark of 4.81m (15-9.25).
- Simone Green compiled a top-five finish in the women's triple jump, placing fifth with a mark of 11.34m (37-2.50).
- Molly Greene placed fifth in the women's pole vault, clearing 3.29m (10-9.50). Â
The Mules and Jennies return to action April 25-27 at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa.
