QUINCY, Ill. – Josh Patrick homered twice as No. 2-ranked Central Missouri Mules baseball posted a 15-6 victory over the Quincy University Hawks in a non-conference game Wednesday, April 17, at QU Stadium.
The Mules (37-5, 24-3 MIAA) are scheduled to travel to Claremore, Okla., for a three-game MIAA series April 19-21 at Rogers State (22-18, 12-15 MIAA).
Patrick went 2-for-5 with a pair of two-run home runs, upping his season total to 10, and drove in four runs, while
Carter Young was 2-for-6 with his 12th homer of 2024 and two RBIs,
Chase Wilcox was 2-for-3 with his fourth home run of the season and a pair of runs driven in,
Adamo Stornello was 2-for-3 with his first home run of 2024,
Chase Heath was 1-for-1 with a two-run, pinch-hit home run for his 11th round-tripper of the season,
Brennen van Breusegen was 3-for-6 with a double and
Max Holy was 2-for-5, rounding out the UCM leaders at the plate.
Central Missouri reliever
Jonah Walker (2-1) earned the win on the mound after allowing two earned runs on three hits in one inning.
Austin Simpson, JD Ortiz and Brock Boynton all homered in the game, leading Quincy (14-23) offensively.
Kade Ruffner suffered the setback on the rubber for the Hawks, surrendering five earned runs on five hits with four strikeouts and three walks in 3 2/3 innings of work. Â
