EMPORIA, Kan. – No. 2-ranked Central Mules baseball dropped a 15-5, eight inning decision at Emporia State in game two of a three-game MIAA series Saturday, April 13, at the Trusler Sports Complex.
The Mules (35-5, 23-3 MIAA) and Hornets (17-24, 8-18 MIAA) are scheduled to play game three of the series Sunday, April 14, at 1 p.m. in Emporia.
Cole Moore went 3-for-4 with a home run, triple and two RBIs, while
Carter Young,
Vance Tobol and
Chase Wilcox also had homers in the contest.
UCM starting pitcher
Jack Kriesman (3-1) suffered the setback on the mound after allowing six earned runs on four hits with three strikeouts and three walks in three innings.
Dom Oliverio, Jovanni Toledo, Konner Hatfield and Andrew Rantz all had two hits, leading Emporia State offensively.
ESU starting pitcher Graham Brunner (3-1) earned the victory after allowing four runs – three earned – on eight hits with nine strikeouts and zero walks in seven innings.
