EMPORIA, Kan. – Jacob Steele,
Max Holy and
Ayden Blachowicz homered as the No. 2-ranked Central Missouri Mules baseball team rolled past Emporia State, 21-7 in seven innings, in the opening game of a three-game MIAA series Friday, April 12, at the Trusler Sports Complex.
The Mules (35-4, 23-2 MIAA) and Hornets (16-25, 7-19 MIAA) are slated to play game two of the series Saturday, April 13, at 2 p.m. in Emporia.
Steele went 4-for-5 with his 10th home run of the season and three RBIs, Holy was 1-for-3 with his 10th round-tripper of 2024 and a pair of runs batted in, and Blachowicz was a perfect 2-for-2 with his second home run of the season and three RBIs, pacing UCM at the plate.
Conner Wolf (8-0) earned the win on the mound for Central Missouri after allowing four earned runs on six hits with two strikeouts and one walk in four innings.
TJ Racherbaumer went 2-for-2 with a home run, pacing Emporia State offensively.
ESU starter Seth Stover suffered the setback on the rubber, surrendering six runs – four earned – on six hits with one walk in one inning.
