WARRENSBURG, Mo. – University of Central Missouri track & field opened its 2024 outdoor season competing in two meets Friday, March 29, in the CMU Invitational in Fayette, Mo., and the WashU Distance Carnival in St. Louis, Mo.
Central Methodist Invitational
Throws
- Marley Sands finished runner-up in the women's javelin with a personal-best mark of 38.02m (124-09). Laken Manns was right behind Sands in third with a personal-best mark of 37.02m (121-05), rounding out the Jennies in the top-three.
- Addison Snowball won the men's hammer throw with a personal-best mark of 56.09m (184-00). Demarcus Kelow was fifth with a personal-best mark of 50.09m (164-04), and Alex Atagi also compiled a top-10 showing, placing seventh with a personal-best mark of 49.10m (161-01).
Washington University Distance Carnival
- Brian Mitei finished 19th in the men's 1,500m run with a time of 4:02.46.
- In a field of 278, Luke Engel and Alejandro Malave compiled top-100 finishes in the men's 5,000m run. Engel finished 89th with a time of 15:24.42 while Malave was 92nd with a personal-best time of 15:25.32.
UCM track & field is scheduled to compete in the Central Methodist Invite again Saturday, March 30, while also competing in the SBU Bearcat Invite in Bolivar, Mo. Saturday.
