WICHITA, Kan. – Second-ranked Central Missouri Mules baseball hit six home runs on its way to a 20-10 victory over the Newman Jets in the first game of a three-game MIAA series Thursday, March 28, at McCarthy Field.
The Mules (28-4, 16-2 MIAA) and Jets (7-27, 3-16 MIAA) are scheduled to play game two of the series Friday, March 29, at 2 p.m. in Wichita.

Brennen van Breusegen (10) and
Chase Heath (10) all had homers for UCM in the victory.
Steele went a perfect 4-for-4 with a homer and double, Holy was 2-for-3 with a homer and double, Tobol had a home run, double and three RBIs, and Heath had four RBIs on his grand slam, pacing Central Missouri offensively in the game.
UCM reliever
Jack Scott (2-0) earned the win on the mound after allowing two runs – one earned – on five hits in four innings.
Connor Owens had three hits, including a homer, and drove in four runs, pacing Newman at the plate.
Lance Elsen (1-2) suffered the loss on the rubber for the Jets, surrendering six earned runs on four hits in an inning.
