WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Jack Schark tallied three hits including a homer as No. 2-ranked Central Missouri Mules baseball secured a series win over the Fort Hays State Tigers with a 9-4 victory in game two of a three-game MIAA series Saturday, March 23, at Crane Stadium/Tompkins Field.
The Mules (25-4, 13-2 MIAA) and Tigers (18-11, 6-9 MIAA) are slated to wrap up the series with a game Sunday, March 24, at 1 p.m. in Warrensburg.
Schark went a perfect 3-for-3 with a double, his sixth home run of the season, and three RBIs while
Max Holy was 2-for-4 and drove in three runs.
Adamo Stornello added a 2-for-2 performance in the batter's box, and
Chase Wilcox and
Brennen van Breusegen each compiled two hits, leading Central Missouri at the plate.
UCM reliever
Harrison Babbitt (3-1) earned the win on the mound after allowing no earned runs on one hit in 1 1/3 innings.
Cesar Saavedra and Jamison Armstrong each had two hits to lead Fort Hays State offensively.
FHSU starting pitcher Cade Flaherty (2-4) took the setback on the rubber, surrendering four runs – two earned – on five hits with two strikeouts in four innings of work.
