TOPEKA, Kan. – University of Central track & field wrapped up the second day of action at the 2024 MIAA Indoor Championships Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Washburn Indoor Athletic Facility.
Throws
- Rachael Molloy finished runner-up in the women's weight throw. Molloy posted a NCAA-II provisional mark of 18.78m (61-07.50) on her first attempt. That mark is 11th-best in Division II this season.
- Addison Snowball placed ninth in the men's weight throw with a mark of 18.02m (59-01.50).
Jumps
- Evans Yamoah placed fourth in the men's high jump with a provisional height of 2.10m (6-10.75).
- In the women's long jump, three Jennies finished in the top-10. Kayla Goodwin finished sixth at 5.63m (18-05.75), Maggie Klover was eighth at 5.59m (18-04.25) and Kristen Jones was 10th at 5.44m (17-10.25).
- Therese Reindl placed ninth in the women's high jump with a mark of 1.60m (5-03.00).
Distance
- Bryan O'Barr and Colton Palmer both recorded top-10 performances in the men's 5,000m run. O'Barr was fifth with a time of 14:55.81 while Palmer was sixth with a time of 14:57.35.
Prelims
- Antonio Lay and Ariel Kerr both advanced to the men's 60m dash final. Lay won the prelims with a provisional time of 6.68 while Kerr was seventh with a provisional and personal-best time of 6.79.
- Parker Wormek and Jentry Acklin both moved on to the men's 60m hurdles final. Wormek placed first in the prelims with a personal-best tying 7.80. That time is also a provisional mark. Acklin was eighth with a provisional 8.10.
- Brooklynn Holtman advanced to the women's 200m dash final after finishing second in the prelims with a provisional time of 24.13. That time ties her personal best and the school record time she set earlier this season at the Indoor Gorilla Classic.
- Isaak Rasche qualified for the men's 600-yard run final, finishing runner-up in the prelim with a personal-best time of 1:12.33.
- Brian Mitei advanced to the men's 800m run final after placing seventh in the prelims with a provisional time of 1:52.44.
Multi-Events
- Logan Grover posted a top-10 finish in the heptathlon with a personal-best 4,584 points. Grover finished third in the 60m dash (7.16) and 1,000m run (2:49.08), fourth in the shot put (12.61m/41-04.50), seventh in both the high jump (1.83m/6-0) and long jump (6.61m/21-08.25), 10th in the pole vault (3.37m/11-00.75) and 13th in the 60m hurdles (10.14).
The third and final day of competition is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 25.
