FIRST PITCH 
  • Central Missouri Jennies softball continues play at the Washburn Invitational with a pair of doubleheaders on Saturday, Feb. 24, against Minot State (noon) and Wayne State (Neb., at 2:00 p.m.) from Lake Shawnee North Park, before taking on St. Cloud State (10:00 a.m.) and Minnesota State (noon) on Sunday, Feb. 25 at Gahnstrom Field in Topeka, Kan.  
  • Last weekend, the Jens went 1-2 at the Raising Cane's Softball Festival in Oklahoma City, Okla. including a win over Missouri S&T by a final score of 8-5.

INDIVIDUAL MILESTONES
  • Redshirt senior MaKenzie Cooper became the latest member of the 100 Hit Club against the Northwest Missouri Bearcats (4/28/2023).  
  • Senior Aubrie McRoberts collected career hit number 100 against the Rockhurst Hawks (4/17/2023).
  • Redshirt junior Paige Petefish currently ranks fifth all-time in saves (six) while having the 11th most wins in the circle with 36.
  • Sophomore Carly Youngblood hit her first career home run in the top of the second inning in the 5-4 comeback victory over Illinois-Springfield (Feb. 9).
  • Freshman Brooke Weimer earned her first collegiate victory in the circle in a complete-game effort allowing six hits, four runs (three earned), while striking out 11 batters for good measure. 
  • Freshman Taylor Thompson delivered her first career home run which gave her career RBI one and two (scoring Jadyn Sheffield) in the bottom of the fourth inning against Truman State (Feb. 9).
 
SERIES HISTORY
  • Minot State: Ahead of Saturday's contest, the Jens won the lone meeting between Minot State in March of 2015 by a final score of 5-3 (10 inn.) in the PFX Spring Games opener from Clermont, Fla.   
  • Wayne State (Neb.): This will be the 19th meeting between Central Missouri and the Wildcats with the last time coming in the opening game of last season's Washburn Invitational as the Jens won 14-5 (5 inn.).  
  • St Cloud State: Central Missouri has a 10-6 overall record against the Huskies including a mark of 6-4 in neutral site games following a 3-1 loss in the final game of the 2023 Washburn Invitational.   
  • Minnesota State: This will be the 25th meeting between the Mavericks and UCM dating back to the 2022 season as the Jens hold a 13-11 record following a 4-3 victory over then fifth ranked MSU, during the ESU Softball Classic Tri-Quad in 2022.
 
UCM DURING the ANDERSON ERA
  • Susan Anderson enters her 18th season as head coach of the Jennies where she is the second winningest coach in program history with a record of 504-376 (.572) becoming just the second coach in program history to eclipse 500 wins doing so in game two of a double header against Fort Hays State (April 16, 2023) on Senior Day.
  • Since her return to Warrensburg in 2006, Anderson has made 14 MIAA tournament appearances, five regional tournaments and one Elite Eight appearance.
  • The 2015 Regional Coach of the Year has been named MIAA Coach of the Year three times in her career (twice named as head coach of the Jens) while coaching 18 first team All-MIAA selections, nine All-Region selections, two All-Americans and one MIAA MVP.
