Jennies Basketball Holds Off Nebraska Kearney Thursday, 81-77

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Brooke Littrell and Olivia Nelson each scored 18 points as the Central Missouri Jennies basketball team held off the Nebraska Kearney Lopers, 81-77, Thursday, Feb. 15, inside the Jerry M. Hughes Athletics Center.

The Jennies (17-6, 11-6 MIAA) are scheduled to host Fort Hays State (19-5, 13-5 MIAA) in a conference game Saturday, Feb. 17, at 1 p.m. in Warrensburg. Saturday's game is the annual Play 4 Kay Pink Game for breast cancer awareness and the UCM Athletic Hall of Fame Game.

Littrell went 6-for-10 from the floor and 6-of-7 at the free-throw line for her 18 points while Nelson was 7-of-12 from the field and 3-of-4 at the foul line for her 18 points. Lauren Frost had 12 points and a season-high eight assists, Ashley Tull added 14 points and a season-best nine rebounds, and Graycen Holden chipped in 10 points, rounding out the UCM leaders for the contest.

In a game that featured 16 lead changes and 12 ties, the Jennies used a big fourth quarter, outscoring the Lopers in the final frame, 24-17, to secure the victory.

For the game, Central Missouri shot 45 percent from the field (29-of-64) and were 21-of-26 at the free-throw line for 81 percent. UCM outrebounded Nebraska Kearney (17-7, 11-7 MIAA), 37-35, and outscored the Lopers in the paint, 46-40.

Shiloh McCool led Nebraska Kearney, netting a game-high 29 points.
